I welcome you all to one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee). I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures. So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the Torah portion of W(V)ayeitz’ei-וַיֵּצֵא. On the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in this year 5774, this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 5th-ה, & the 6th-ו, of the Hebrew month of Kislew(v)-כִּסְלֵו,for this week, in this mode of study; for those out in the diaspora or outside of Jerusalem/Israel. (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) &, from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in what may be known as the year 2006/2026/7506, on the Ethiopic calendar. This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 29th-፳፱, & the 30th-፴, on the (ወርኀ)month of T’Q’imt-ጥቅምት. In the Scriptures, what is also known as WeT’ito-ወጥቶ. The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

The part of the Scriptures tells of how Jacob left Canaan, for Haran. He was told by his parents, Isaac & Rebekah to seek out the people of Rebekah‘s brother, Laban; Jacob, had a vision…
Coming to a well, Jacob met the people of Laban, and his daughter Rachel. Jacob, later found himself twenty years in dowry to Laban.
Jacob begins to have children and time spends quickly as he has comes to the feeling that returning to his land would be more suitable for his large family and possessions.
The wives of Jacob, and their children had cleaved to him, for favor was with Jacob, in the God of his fathers. So, Jacob gathered his family, cattle and set out to return to his father, Isaac. Even at the pursuit of Laban, but Laban, could send his blessing for his children, and grandchildren, because God had blessed him since Jacob had come to live among his people. So the two(Jacob & Laban) made a covenant between each other, because Laban knew that God’s favor was with Jacob.

Shalom Lidj Yefdi, this Esau and Jacob tift really has ne thinking. After the leaving of Jacob to work in dowry for Rachel, Laban deliberately does not tell him that he has no plans of giving him Rachel first. But instead he deceives him and at the last minute makes it so he can work him like a mule that much longer. Such manipulation.
well, bredrin…for Jacob, he subsequently deceived his father(Isaac) & brother Esau; so in short; “what goes around comes around,” as far as Laban is concerned. But what sets Jacob apart, is his promise & faithfulness to JAH [ie. @Bethel].

It seems that throughout the his problems he still sets his aspirations to JAH’s will. Now, from the last kifil(portion), Esau made it all the easier to assume responsibility for the birthright; seeing as how Esau cared nothing for it, to begin with. So, though he may have been deceived, would it have mattered, otherwise?…probably not

InI have meditated on this a few times as well, this strong…… You are probably correct, in that he had no intentions of telling him. But InI also figured, could Laban have initially intended to do as first arranged (give Jacob Rachel as a wife) , but then changed his mind when he recognised Jah was with Jacob and saw what Jacob was capable of? I know he said that “It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn”, maybe this was an excuse?
Also in the previous Torah portion InI noticed that at the end of chapter 26 the Word is mentioning how Esau’s wives are a grief of mind to Isaac and Rebekah;
Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.
And then straight in the next chapter, the Word explains that Isaac is aged/old and dim sighted;
And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
Did Esau and his wives have anything to do with the ageing of Isaac???
Yes I’, I&I could count the deception of Laban to Jacob, as an excuse to do what he did & upon finding out that Jacob was favored he change his attitude towards him.
& It is definitely a possibility that the grief of Esau’s actions contrary to his father & mother’s wishes, could’ve contributed to an aging symptom. Possibly, psychological stress, or maybe of another sort.
