Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied the Torah portion of BeCḥ’ūkōtáï – בְּחֻקֹּתַי, for this week, in this mode of study, for those out in the diaspora or outside Jerusalem or Israel.  From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the year 5779 this Sabbath day would probably fall on the, 26thכו, & on the 27thכז, of the month of Iyar- אִייָר‎ . (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) but,  from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as BeSírâutæy – በሥርዓቴon the 23rd – ፳፫, & on the 24th – ፳፬, day of ወርኀ(month)- ግንቦት (Ginbot). The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church(the other language being Ge’ez-ግእዝ).

In this literal English meaning, it can be speculated to come to congruency in the phrases of: “in my order/statutes,” or “by my decrees.”  In this study portion of the Scriptures, the children of Israel’s, main concern should’ve been the upkeep of YHWH‘s laws and commandments, which clearly spoken by the God of Israel, would yield abundance, peace, and security.

Now, in this study portion of the Scriptures, the children of Israel were instructed by Moses, who was given the Law upon Mount Sinai.  The children of Israel were to keep the commandments, so prosperity would abide with them.  It was assured to the Hebrews that if they were to keep these laws and statutes, then they would yield abundance, peace, and security from God.

Of this covenant, upon Sinai, Israel should’ve received rain in due season, and land that would produce plentifully.  They would reap the benefits of a peaceful harmonious land and none would intimidate them from outside.  Wild beasts would be driven out of the land, along with those who could possibly threaten the tranquility of Israel in their land.  Enemies of Israel would flee, for they would not have the power to stand before Israel to quarrel with them, and if any persisted they would surely fall.  The Tabernacle would continue to reside within Israel & God vowed to be with them always, to love & to be their God.

But, if Israel were not to keep the commandments then Judgment was of a surety.  For disobedience, Israel, would endure terror, consumption and constant illness.  They would be scattered among their adversaries.

Obedience to the wills of the good influence of the God of Israel, upon the Hebrews would bring this rain in due season, land that would be plentiful, peace throughout all of the land, none would be able to intimidate them, and enemies would flee from them for they would know that the power of YHWH rested with the children of Israel.

 

Disobedience, of course, was another story entirely, as obvious as it may or may not seem.  Disobedience would lead the children of Israel into a array of dismay.  Destruction, desolation, drought, disorderly conduct almost without any control of any outcome.  Not to mention the dispersion and disruption of their growing and bustling communities of families.

Israel’s redemption, would only come if the Hebrews were to confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespassing against God’s covenantAcceptance of their faults in bringing God’s wrath upon them; only then would the covenant be remembered, as well as, the people and the land be healed.

Upon the Mountain,”…that mountain between Egypt and Israel.

Atop, Mount Sinai, God spoke to Moses with instructions for the children of Israel when they were to come into the land that was promised to them.  For example, upon entry into the Land of Promise, an order was to be put into practice for the tilling of the land/earth.

The land was to given rest on the seventh year, just as the Hebrews were to observe the Sabbath on the seventh day perpetually.(from generation-to-generation) This form of agriculture has come to us in the Hebrew word_ Shemittah – שמטה (Sabbitical year [Sabbath year] _is a credible and/or workable translation).  In the year of rest, the farmers, who were of the children of Israel were not to till the land or harvest that of the work of their hands from the crops. The land was to be in a Sabbath year or resting year from plowing and working.  What grew on its own, the children of Israel could partake in, though.

This study portion also contains commandments based laws, for the children of Israel when dealing in the realm of governing the sale of lands, and the eradicating fraud and usury(or misuse).  The land was not to be sold, but to be kept, by the “sowers & reapers” of it.

The institution for the observance(s) of the Jubilee years, was also a focal point in the study portion of the Scriptures.  The Hebrews also were instructed in Mosaic lawful manner that contributed to a wholesome, and wholistic way of life.

This kifil(portion) of the study of the Scriptures, deals with the stories of the lives of the B’nei Ysrael(or the sons of Israel-Jacob).

…each of them having a particular situation they had to deal with, in specific intervals of time, in their lives…

For instance, from the past parsha/kifil(portion), of W(V)ayishlaKH’-Lake’, Simeon & Levi, Jacob-Israel‘s sons by Leah, slew the Shechemites for the rape of their sister, Dinah.

Reuben, later violated his father, and his wife Bilhah, by sleeping with her in the depth of the night, while she thought that it was her husband. (so the firstborn, not only violated his father, but his birthright as well)

Benjamin, the youngest, is born of Jacob-Israel‘s wife, Rachel, but his birth goes “hand-in-hand” with Rachel‘s passing. (leaving him as the “baby of the family” & attracting much of Jacob‘s attention)

Now, in this portion of the study, Jacob-Israel settled in the land of Canaan.  While in Canaan, Joseph, Jacob-Israel‘s elder son of Rachel, is adorned by his father with a beautiful coat with an array of colors and designs.  The love, Joseph received from his father evoked the jealousy of his brothers, & the ability to tune into the dreams and visions, which God continued to send him, did no better for Joseph, pertaining to his brother’s envy.

Joseph‘s brothers were in Shechem feeding their flocks, & Jacob sent Joseph, to join them.  But, because of their envy, Joseph’s brothers sought an opportunity and plotted against him(Joseph), to the point that they considered killing him.

But, because the other sons of Jacob-Israel, had not found their brother Joseph in the place where they left him, which was a pit with no water.  Then the other brother, made a story to tell their father that their brother was killed by a wild beast, for they wished not to tell Jacob-Israel, that they plotted rid themselves of their brother, for they were envious of him.

Now, in an interim, from the story of Joseph; his brother, Judah marries a Canaanite woman, whom was the daughter of Shua.  The daughter of Shua bore Judah, three sons: Er, Onan &, Shelah.  After the disobedience and deaths of the first two sons, Judah was left to care for his daughter-in-law, Tamar, whom had married his firstborn son, ErOnan, was to take on responsibility of being the caretaker, & his brother’s keeper, in the matters of his sister-in-law, Tamar, but he(Onan) rejected the responsibility; & provoked God to punish him.  So, Judah, as her(Tamar) father-in-law, proposed that she return to her family, & await until Shelah; Judah‘s youngest was to come of age, so that he may assume the position of being his brother’s keeper.

Shelah grew, but he was not given to Tamar, for a husband.  So, she plotted to make Judah acknowledge that he had wronged her, in that his arrangement, responsibility, & commitment to her as a father-in-law, had not been kept.

So, returning to Joseph‘s story; he ends up in Egypt, as a servant to Potiphar, a captain of the Egyptian guardJoseph, while in servitude, is blessed by God that even the Egyptians sense that there is something special about him.  Joseph finds himself in charge of the many things that someone of his status just hadn’t been able to attain.  But, of course, a challenge to his continued success was inevitable.  So, the wife of Potiphar, is enamored by Joseph, & continuously tried to persuade him to sleep with her: but, he resisted her, every time.  But, in one instance, Potiphar was on leave from his home leaving Joseph in charge of all that he had.  Potiphar, trusting Joseph, but Potiphar‘s wife, saw a chance to seize the opportunity to get Joseph all to herself.  Joseph, again refused her, but she forced herself upon him, to the point that he had to flee from her, leaving his garment in her hand.  She being ashamed & angered at Joseph, made false accusations, but turned the words in Potiphar‘s guards and Potiphar‘s ears so that Joseph, found himself in the prisons of Egypt, for betrayal, among other accusations.

But, while in prison, Joseph is still favored by God, for staying steadfast even in the midst of his adversity; he receives the responsibility that not many would’ve as a prisoner, interpreting dreams and visions, like the ones he had as a child in the land of Canaan.

All Saints’ Day

Greetings, yet again to one and all, from “Lidj Yefdi” (pronounced Lij; Yêf-dee).

Ras Tafari Renaissance Revelationsis here wishing you all a very Happy All Saints Day, also known as “All Hallows’ Day” (Hallowmas), the Feast of All Saints, or Solemnity of All Saints, is a Christian festival celebrated in honor of ALL the saints, known and unknown.

In Western Christianity, it is celebrated on November 1 by the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion, the Methodist Church, the Lutheran Church, the Reformed Church, and other Protestant churches. The Eastern Orthodox Churches and associated Eastern Catholic Churches and Byzantine Lutheran Churches celebrate it on the first Sunday after Pentecost.  Oriental Orthodox churches of Chaldea and associated Eastern Catholic churches celebrate All Saints’ Day on the first Friday after Easter.

In the Western Christian practice, the liturgical celebration begins at Vespers on the evening of 31 October, All Hallows’ Eve (All Saints’ Eve), and ends at the close of 1 November. It is thus the day before All Souls’ Day, which commemorates the faithful departed. In many traditions, All Saints’ Day is part of the season of Allhallowtide, which includes the three days from 31 October to 2 November inclusive and in some denominations, such as Anglicanism, extends to Remembrance Sunday.

 

The Christian festival of All Saints Day comes from a conviction that there is a spiritual connection between those in Heaven and on Earth. In Catholic tradition, the holiday honors all those who have passed on to the Kingdom of Heaven. It is a national holiday in numerous historically Catholic countries. In Methodist tradition, All Saints Day relates to giving God earnest gratitude for the lives and deaths of his saints, remembering those who were well-known and not. Additionally, individuals throughout Christian history are celebrated, such as Peter the Apostle and Charles Wesley, as well as people who have personally guided one to faith in Christ, such as one’s relative or friend.

(the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation, where the current year is 2011/7511; these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known, also as; Tӓlӓytӓ Wӓṭăh – ተለይተህ ወጣ, on the 9th – ፱, & the 10th – ፲,  of the (ወርኀ)month of T’Qĭmt – ጥቅምት.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

Leaving off with descendants of Noah, from the last portion of the Scripture studies, LeKH’ LeKH’a-לֶךְ-לְךָ is the set of readings for this Sabbath.

Abram of Ur, in Chaldea, a descendant of Noah, was spoken to by God.

Abram, was told by God to leave his country and people, in Chaldea.  So Abram, left with Sarai(his wife), and Lot(his nephew) traveled south.  God sought to bless Abram, exceedingly.

Famine in those lands took Abram to Egypt, where passed off his wife, as his sister; for he feared he would be killed because of her beauty, in the sight of the Egyptians.

 But, because of her beauty Pharaoh sought to entreat her, for he sought to make her a wife of his.  But, his mind was plagued because of Sarai(Abram’s wife).  So much so, that he confronted Abram about the situation and ended up sending on their way peacefully, with quite hefty caravan.

While in Egypt, Abram and his family acquired very much, in riches.  But, if got to the point where there was strife among them, (within their camps).  Lot(Abram’s nephew) and Abram, consolidated to negotiate not to struggle with each other for there was so much land, that they need not quarrel over anything.

But, the men of Sodom, near where Abram had made a place for him cattle, herds, and possessions were a wicked and distasteful people.  Wickedness abounded so much so, to the point that Abram separated himself from among them, at Mamre, in Hebron.

War, in those days, between many kings of many nations, brought Sodom & Gomorrah to an expected destruction.

Fortunately, Abram was able to bring Lot out, just before meeting Melchizedek; the king of Salem.

Abram, was then blessed by God, in that by his wife Sarai, who was barren, would give birth to a son. (even in their old age)  Abram was given vision by God, that his seed would be innumerable, for he would be the father of many nations.  God instructed Abram, to make offerings, he did it & guarded it.

Then Abram had visions of the future generations of his to come.

Sarai, feeling as though she had been restrained by God from bearing any children, gave Abram, her maid, Hagar(Agar), who was an Egyptian, in attempt beget children of AbramHagar, conceived of Abram, but saw Sarai, differently afterwards. (by contempt)  Sarai, then feeling as though she brought about strife in Abram‘s house, she brought the plight to Abram, and wanted Abram to put her away.  God, complied because he sought to make the child of Hagar & Abram, a mighty nations of his own. (his name would be Ishmael)

Hagar & Isma'il (ibn Ibrahim)

Between Abram & God, was a covenant made: for he would the father of many nations, and be fruitful exceedingly, kings would be from him, the land between the two rivers would be of his possession, & the land of Canaan would be for an everlasting possession, his seed shall circumcise their flesh(males); also he & his wife would have new names.  Instead of Abram, his name would be Abraham & instead of Sarai, her name would be Sarah.

Abraham would also have a son, which he would name Isaac, his son Ishmael would grow to be a mighty nation.

Atop, Mount Sinai, God spoke to Moses with instructions for the children of Israel when they were to come into the land that was promised to them.  For example, upon entry into the Land of Promise, an order was to be put into practice for the tilling of the land/earth.

The land was to given rest on the seventh year, just as the Hebrews were to observe the Sabbath on the seventh day perpetually.(from generation-to-generation) This form of agriculture has come to us in the Hebrew word_ Shemittahשמטה (Sabbitical year[Sabbath year] _is a credible translation).  In the year of rest, the farmers, who were of the children of Israel were not to till the land or harvest that of the work of their hands from the crops. The land was to be in a Sabbath year or resting year from plowing and working.  What grew on its own, the children of Israel could partake in, though.

This study portion also contains commandments based laws, for the children of Israel when dealing in the realm of governing the sale of lands, and the eradicating fraud and usury(or misuse).  The land was not to be sold, but to be kept, by the “sowers & reapers” of it.

So, with the portion of BeHár-BeCḥ’ūkōtáï, we will know go into the study of BeCḥ’ūkōtáï – בְּחֻקֹּתַי  , which will be added to this week’s Sabbath in the order of the Hebrew/Judaic cycle readings.  This study comes to us as BeSírâutæy – በሥርዓቴ, from the Ethiopic-Christian perspective.  The Hebrew and Amharic words for this study could be translated into phrases like: “In my order,” or “In my statutes/laws.”

In this literal English meaning, it can be speculated to come to congruency in the phrases of: “in my order/statutes,” or “by my decrees.”  In this study portion of the Scriptures, the children of Israel’s, main concern should’ve been the upkeep of YHWH‘s laws and commandments, which clearly spoken by the God of Israel, would yield abundance, peace, and security.

Now, in this study portion of the Scriptures, the children of Israel were instructed by Moses, who was given the Law upon Mount Sinai.  The children of Israel were to keep the commandments, so prosperity would abide with them.  It was assured to the Hebrews that if they were to keep these laws and statutes, then they would yield abundance, peace, and security from God.

Of this covenant, upon Sinai, Israel should’ve received rain in due season, and land that would produce plentifully.  They would reap the benefits of a peaceful harmonious land and none would intimidate them from outside.  Wild beasts would be driven out of the land, along with those who could possibly threaten the tranquility of Israel in their land.  Enemies of Israel would flee, for they would not have the power to stand before Israel to quarrel with them, and if any persisted they would surely fall.  The Tabernacle would continue to reside within Israel & God vowed to be with them always, to love & to be their God.

But, if Israel were not to keep the commandments then Judgment was of a surety.  For disobedience, Israel, would endure terror, consumption and constant illness.  They would be scattered among their adversaries.

Obedience to the wills of the good influence of the God of Israel, upon the Hebrews would bring this rain in due season, land that would be plentiful, peace throughout all of the land, none would be able to intimidate them, and enemies would flee from them for they would know that the power of YHWH rested with the children of Israel.

Disobedience, of course, was another story entirely, as obvious as it may or may not seem.  Disobedience would lead the children of Israel into a array of dismay.  Destruction, desolation, drought, disorderly conduct almost without any control of any outcome.  Not to mention the dispersion and disruption of their growing and bustling communities of families.

This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Tetẓ’av(w)eh – תְּצַוֶּה, on the 8th – ח, & on the 9th – טof the month of Adar – אֲדָר, in the year of 5778. Now, in summation of the study we have in front of us; Moses is told by God that the children of Israel are to complete the construction of a sanctuary in the wilderness.  Other instruments and furniture, for the Tabernacle, that would be needed included: olive oil for the lampstand in what would be known as the Holy Place.

Moses, by the instruction of God, ordains Aaron, his brother, to become the High Priest, along with his sons and the rest of his descendants. Here, Aaron’s wife, Elisheba, whom was the daughter of Amminadab ben Judah(son of Judah), sister to Nahshon ben Amminadab(son of Amminadab), of the tribe of Judah, became the Matriarch of the Cohanim(priests).

The sacred covering of the Ark of The Covenant, which the Cohanim were to give service to on behalf the children of Israel, is called Kapporeth – כפורת, so finding out why the picture placed above, is of what might be known as Khepri, I’ll leave it up to anyone who’s curious enough to take a look for themselves. I would elaborate more on how linguistics also play a part in the understanding of Scripture, but that’s pretty apparent. Though, it may seem, out of context that there could possibly be more connections of the Hebrew/Jewish thought and practice, to the Ancient Egyptian Mysteries or the traditional Judeo-Christian aspects of this, it meets more points of similarity than most people can see. For example, in Hebrew, the “Holy of Holies” is named as the Kodesh HaKodeshiyim – קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים , and semantically similar in the ancient Ge’ez old Ethiopic language of the Ethiopian-Jews and Ethiopia entirely, the same is called the Q’edeste Q’ddusan – ቀደስተ ቅዱሳን.
