Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with W(V)aYïgash – וַיִּגַּשׁ, on the 4th – ד, & on the 5th – ה, of the month of Teb(v)et – טֵבֵת, in the year of 5778. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the MoonFrom an Ethiopic Judeo-Christian perspective and calculation, where the current year is 2010/7510;  This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 13th – ፲፫, & the 14th – ፲፬, of the month of Tah’sas – ታኅሣሥ.  In the Scriptures, this portion of study would also be known as TäQ’ämättä – ተቀመጠ.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

Readings:

Genesis 44:18 – 47:27

Ezekiel 37: 15-28

Ephesians 2: 1-10

The last portion of study shows Judah, pleading on the behalf of his younger brother, Benjamin.  Judah explained to Joseph, the affinity that Jacob(Israel) had to Benjamin.  He continued to elaborate on those reasons showing that it was because of Joseph’s supposed disappearance that Jacob(Israel) was very “overprotective” (so, to speak) and cautious of Benjamin’s well-being.  Joseph, cunningly made arrangements of his own, to have his family in the land of Canaan, to come to Egypt.  For Joseph knew not at first, if his father Jacob(Israel), was even alive or not; but upon speaking with his brother & going unnoticed by him (& the other nine[9] as well), he knew that he was now, alive & well of old age.

[Gen. 44:18-34]

[Gen. 45: 1-4] ...Joseph made himself known to his brethren...

[Gen. 45: 1-4]
Joseph made himself known to his brethren

But, going on in speech with his brother Judah, Joseph couldn’t hold back his emotion at hearing about the plight of his kindred during the famine.  Joseph, then revealed who he really was, wept and embraced his brothers.  Forgiving them, for their past encounters, & revealing to them how their families, flocks and possessions would now find a home in Egypt, for the famine so great.  So Joseph, pleaded with Pharaoh to allow his kindred to relocate.

[Gen. 45:1-17]

Jacob(Israel) Goes Into Egypt

Jacob(Israel) upon hearing that his son Joseph, was indeed alive, with his youngest son, Benjamin.  He rejoiced, but was reluctant to venture into Egypt to dwell.  But, God came to him in a vision and gave him the encouragement to see his son, & that his posterity in the covenant that Israel had with God; from Abraham & Isaac would be preserved.  So, the Hebrews ventured into Egypt by the workings of Joseph, and the blessing of Pharaoh. (But, more definitively by the hands of God.)

[Gen.45:18-30]

wayigash - parsha [ancient hyksos (hebrews)]Hieroglyphic remodeling from Egypt accounts of migrations in flight of famine.

Joseph, gathered his family and his kindred into the land of Goshen, for they had flocks, cattle and he coached them into telling Pharaoh that they were shepherds.

Yosef(Ts'afnat Paa'neachk) & his wife Asenath welcome in the Hebrews

Joseph, managed the house of Pharaoh in Egypt well for he was a governor & because of the famine many came to buy food from Joseph.  He stored the grains and seeds of the land in plenty, & many came to barter to feed themselves and their families, in exchange for others things.

HEBREW CALENDAR2

Purim, is the celebration of the deliverance of the Jews that were under the rule of the Persian Empire. [SIDE-NOTE] FLASH FORWARD, in Scripture the Persian Empire(or otherwise known to be the Medes, were apart the four kingdoms prophecy, which Nebuchadnezzer’s dream, was interpreted by Daniel, for him by way of God’s revealing).

The Persian Empire came after the Babylonian Captivity.

Nebuchadnezzar-statue2

The Jews (or the Hebrews) in Persia were freed from the hand of Haman, who had gained favor in the sight of the king Ahasuerus(whom is also accounted for as being Xerxes I). No, Xerxes I, is not the Persian king of the movie “300” dealing with the Spartans. THAT WAS PURE HOLLYWOOD ENTERTAINMENT; THIS IS HISTORICAL FACT. Xerxes, was the king of Persia whom gave favor to Haman the Agagite. But loved deeply, Esther, whom was the daughter of Mordecai (mo, the Jew.

achaedyn

Mordecai, instructed Esther to conceal her heritage from the king and all of his court, for she had been taken along with many other young women to be suited for the king of Persia, because he put away Vashti, from being queen. But upon the conflict of Mordecai vs. Haman; Haman sought to destroy ALL the Jews in Persia. Silver was the payment of Haman to the king to destroy the Jews, young old, men, women and children.

[Esther 2: 7- 3:15]

MAP_PERSIA

Vashti, refused the king’s request to appear before the king & his guests, which were nobles and princes throughout Persia and Media. [Esther 1(entire Chpt)]

But, unknowingly Hadassah(Eshter), was of the people of Jews(Hebrews) by way of her adoption by Mordecai, who reverenced not Haman, as the king had wanted for those of the kingdom in Persia and Media.

In the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, on its thirteenth day … on the day that the enemies of the Jews were expected to prevail over them, it was turned about: the Jews prevailed over their adversaries. [Esther 9:1]

So, all-in-all to the Daughters of Zion, which I named this [(Original)] posting,…which I’am sure many of you are questioning that move…Well, its very simple! Women in society are many times are thought to be pushed to the backside of many important events, and happenings in this world we see today, but, clearly even in antiquity, women held power and influence that they, themselves, sometimes are unable to recognize. &, in this case the power to save millions to the billions from despair.  So, to the Daughters, remember that with this type of blessing comes a gret deal of responsibility. Handle it with care, my sistren.

www-St-Takla-org--Bible-17Est06--10-12-Haman-and-Mordecai

But, for the Daughters of Zion, as well as, the Sons, the Scriptures clearly state that we are to remember Purim for all generations, and to keep them in writing.

[Esther 9:27-28]

Not to mention being the givers of life, nourishment, sustainability…and out right, “being the first teachers of human civilization(or every child) that comes to this world” _quoted from El Hajj Malik El Shabazz(Malcolm X) by way of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Sisters, mothers, daughters and women of our families the message you give to the child(children) they will give to the world. So please consider your illustrious position in the cosmology of this existence. & while we as Ras Tafari, Ethiopians, Hebrews, & Israelites, celebrate the essence of woman in the example of Queen Esther; I certainly hope, that the men will acknowledge the counterpart that was created to be the companion of ours.

I welcome you all to a new regenartion of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the opening of  the Torah portions with W(V)a’yeira-וַיֵּרָא.  On the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in this year 5775, this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 14th-יד, & the 15th-טו, of the month of Marcḥeshw(v)an-מַרְחֶשְׁוָן, for this week, in this mode of study; for those out in the diaspora or outside of Jerusalem/Israel.  (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) &, from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in what may be known as the year2007/2027/7507, on the Ethiopic calendar.  This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 28th-፳፰, & the 29th-፳፱, on the (ወርኀ)month of T’Qĭmt-ጥቅምት.

In the Scriptures, this portion of study would also be known as Tӓgӓlӓtӓlӓt- ተገለጠለት.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

From the last Sabbath portion, Lech’-Lech’a & we come to Wayeira-וַיֵּרָא.  In this study of the Scriptures, Abraham is visited in the plain of Mamre,

[Gen. 18]

Abraham is asked of his wife, Sarah‘s whereabouts, because a special message is to be delivered.  She is to bare Abraham a son, though the both of them are aged.

[Gen. 18: 9-19]

lech lecha - parsha [sarai-sarah]2

In this kifil/parsha(portion), Abraham found himself playing the role of an “intercessor” before the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah, for the sake of his nephew, Lot, & his family.

[Gen. 18: 20-33]

After the Sodom & Gomorrah‘s obliteration, Lot was left with only his two daughters.  They feared that wouldn’t be married, so they, the two daughters devised a plan to procure children from their father’s lineage.

[Gen. 19]

wayeira -parsha [Destruction_of_Sodom_&_Gomorrah]

Meanwhile, Abraham passes off his wife, Sarah, for his sister; in the hopes that it would spare his life, to a king named Abimelech.  God, speaks to Abimelech in a vision of sleep, & informs him that Abraham, and Sarah are not brother and sister, but husband and wife.  Also, because of their presence in Abimelech‘s kingdom, all of the wombs were closed up.  Abimelech, of course, confronts Abraham for this, but they both are reconciled with each other and even, make a covenant between them in Beersheba.

[Gen. 20]

Abraham & Sarah go to see Abimelech

Sarah, then gave birth to a son of Abraham, and named him IsaacHagar, who was Sarah‘s handmaiden, but had become a mother of Abraham‘s firstborn son; mocked her, in that she gave birth in her old age.

[Gen. 21: 1-10]

Later, Sarah remembered the callous feelings between she, & Hagar, whom had bore a son,(Ishmael) to AbrahamSarah, feeling as if she placed a burden on Abraham that he shouldn’t bare, told him to cast off the woman & her child.  Abraham, grievous because of what it seemed like he may have to do, but received assurance of God, that the woman & her child would be preserved.

[Gen. 21: 11-21]

So, with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied either the Torah portion of Korach/KoraKH‘/Koraḥ-קֹרַח, from the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the year 5774 year, this Sabbath day would probably be accounted for as the 22nd-כב, & the 23rd-כג, of the month of Siw(v)an-סִיוָן.  (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Q'()oräyቆሬ.  This would calculate as the 13th-፲፫, & the  14th-፲፬, of the month(ወርኀ) of Seney’-ሰኔ.  The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church(the other language being Ge’ez-ግእዝ).

Readings:

Numbers 16:1 – 18:32

I Samuel 11:14 – 18:32

Romans 13: 1-7

Now, in continuance of our studies of Torah, we come to the parsha(portion) of Korah’.  Now, in this study of the Scriptures, a Levite, named Korah’ (ben Izhar- son of Izhar), joins himself wth Dathan & Abiram, who are Reubinites(of the Tribe of Reuben), and two-hundred & fifty princes of Israel.  This group began a rebellion, that challenged the authority of Moses and Aaron, among the children of Israel.

[Numb. 16:1-19]

korach - parsha [Lewiim - descent]

God instructed Moses and Aaron, to get away from Korah and his rebellious few, and tell the children of Israel to separate themselves as well; for he would consume them

God then, spoke to Moses to tell Eleazar(Aaron’s son; a Priest of Levi), to take the censors of Korah, which they took in the Tabernacle for the fire and the incense, and make them broad plates for a covering of the altar.  “They shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”

[Numb. 16:36-40]

korach - parsha [eleazar priest]

The next day the children of Israel, murmured against Moses & Aaron, saying, “…they killed people of God…,” and then a plague fell upon them(Israel) and more died, even after those of Korah’s Rebellion suffered judgment.

[Numb. 16:41-50]

God then, instructed Moses to gather the staffs of the Princes Of Israel; one for each of the tribes (12) and adding one more the tribe of Levi, in which, Aaron would be the head.  (making that thirteen [13] staff-rods).  God would then choose the staff to show where he would place his authority among the children of Israel, to put an end to their murmuring.  Moses, took the staffs and placed them in the Tabernacle of Witness.

[Numb. 17: 1-7]

korach - parsha [staffs of the Princes of Israel]

The very next morning, Moses entered into the Tabernacle, only to find that Aaron’s rod, had blossomed and brought forth buds, and also yielded almonds.  Moses brought forth the staff of Aaron, by God’s command to be a witness/memorial to Israel of God’s will way.  Whomsoever go against God’s way would not share in his rest.

[Numb. 17:8-13]

God then spoke to Aaron, saying, that he and his sons (lineage), were to perform the duties of service in the Tabernacle, so no wrath would anymore fall upon Israel.  The Levites were to administer the reception of of offerings made by the children of Israel to God in the Tabernacle; but they wouldn’t have an inheritance as the rest of the children of Israel(Tribes) had.  The reason being was & is, because the “tithes” of Israel would be given to them by God.
