Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

I welcome you all to a new regeneration of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.  So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Mídbár בְּמִדְבַּר, on the 4th – ד, & on the 5th – ה, from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel; on of the month of  Sïw[v]án סִיוָן, in the year of 5779. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in the year 2011/7511 E.C., and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Mídrä Bädá – ምድረ በዳ, on the 30th – ፫, of the month of Gínbōt – ግንቦት, & on the 1st – ፩, of the month (ወርኀ) of Sänæy – ሰኔ.  The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – ግእዝ).

Readings:

Numbers 1:1 – 4:20

Hosea 2: 1-23

Romans 9: 22-23

Luke 24: 50, 51

Acts 1: 9-11

Forwarding, in our studies, we’ve come to another book in the Torah.  This study portion has brought us to BaMídbár(translated into English as; Numbers; or Midbar-מִדְבַּר =pasture/open field/desert, & Ba(e’)= בְּ , with Midbar, making the Hebrew word BaMidbar, either meaning, “In the Book of Numbers,” or “In the wilderness“)/the same in the Ethiopian-Amharic language with the word, Midrä Bädáምድረ በዳ= the wilderness”.

After completing the Book of Leviticus, (which by Ras Tafari interpretation, could be known also as the “Livitiy Book“) the over-standing of what encompasses the Leviticus, is the blessing and cursing, by way of the abiding in the laws and commandments set forth for the children of Israel.

bamibar - parsha [encampment of the Bnei Ysrael]

Moses & Aaron, numbered the children of Israel, then appointed heads of the households from the tribes.(…twelve men, each of their father’s house…)

[Numb. 1: 44]

encampment of israel-tabernacle in the wilderness

Moses & Aaron also received instructions from God, not to number the tribe of Lew(v)i with the rest of the children of Israel.  They were to have a separate responsibility among the people.  Just as they were to administer the duties of priests in Israel, in the Tabernacle, they were to continue in that way.  The tribes were then assembled orderly into an encampment around the Tabernacle.

[Numb. 1:49- 2:34]

Tetzaweh - parsha (High Priest-Kohen HaGadol-LiQe Kahinat)

In this encampment every tribe would raise a standard(or banner), with an ensign for the tribes.

[Numb. 2: 1-32]

bamidbar - parsha (conhaniim-kahinat)

Moses & Aaron, were to also assemble the Tribe of Le(w)i and consecrate them to keep the charge of Aaron(the High Priest), and for the entire congregation of Israel.  They were to keep the instruments of the Tabernacle and perform the service for the congregation.

[Numb. 3]

cohen hagadol - high priest of the tabernacle [liqe kahinat]

[Numb. 4]

Ordinances for the garments of the High Priest, established in the Tribe of Levi.

For this week, in the portion of the study of the Scriptures, we’ve come to W(V)ayikra.  In the translation, the topic refers to the first line of the readings; “…& he called…”  The laws and ordinances of sacrifice were laid out for the children of Israel.  Moses receives the laws and statutes for the “Sacrifices”/”Offerings,” which are to be made for forgiveness/atonement for sins of the children of Israel. The details are explained to Moses, in relevance to the nature or the action, of the sin that may have been committed. Upon the realization of the sin, its offerings are categorized in different ways.

wayikra - parsha6

the sacrifice of an animal permissible for the action, was to take the place of the sinner, who had sinned against God, his commandments, or laws and statutes. Sin was forgiven by faith and repentance, but no because of the ultimate sacrifice, & fulfillment of Scriptures, Christ took on the sins of the world, like a Paschal Lamb of Passover.

wayikra - parsha (sacrifice-priesthood)

The Paschal Lamb was the unblemished animal which used to mark the doors of the Israelites on the night the 10th plague of the “Death of the First Born Of Egypt” was to pass through the land.

[Ex. 11:1- 12:13]

Christ established the new covenant with sacrificing himself, which also became revealed in his speaking over the sharing of the Passover Seder, with the apostles, in the Upper Room.

[Mt. 26:29]

wayikra - parsha (sacrifice-high-priest-sprinkling-blood)

The offering of sacrificial animals and grains were a strong focal point of the Torah, not bribe God, for every animal of the earth, God created, was and belonged to God, anyway.  Blood made a consecration and an atonement, with God. Blood is the life of flesh, so the blood makes atonement for the soul and the is symbolizes holiness through sacrifice. The sacrificial system made a representation of a life sacrificed for a life, with the wage of sin being death.

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, Moses relays the rules & regulations for the Sabbath & how they are to conduct themselves and teach the following generations as a statute among them, forever. Moses also gave the instructions of God, to the children of Israel for the construction of the tabernacle.  He explains how two chosen among them were Betz’aleel ben Uri . בצלאל בן-אורי (ben Uri = son of Uri), out of the tribe of Judah, & Aholiab ben Achiycamach . אהליאב בן-אחיסמך (ben Achiycamach = son of Achiycamach), out of the tribe of Dan, were called by God to be the craftsmen of the Tabernacle in the wilderness.

pekudei - parsha [builders of the tabernacle]

The children of Israel were to bring, of a willing heart, offerings to God that would aid in the construction of the tabernacle.  These items included things like: fine linen of the colors blue, purple, scarlet, goat’s hair, badger’s skin, shittim wood, as well as, ram’s skin {dyed red}, gold, silver, oil for light, spices (for anointing and the candlestick-lampstand and incense), brass; also, onyx stones for the êphód, & the “wise-hearted.”

[Ex. 36: 5-35]

fine linen(purple-blue-scarlet)

As the construction was in the beginning stages of completion the children of Israel, came to the realization of creating the Tabernacle in the wilderness by the instruction of G-d, through Moses.

These actions regenerated community singularity through a lightly sparked industrialization and focused on the betterment of the greater society, indirectly through a communal organization of aggregated resources brought out from their time lived in the lands of Egypt.

While the people brought willingly to God the items, which they could provide, it was brought to Moses’ attention that they brought more than what would be needed. Moses then gave commandment and proclamation to the children of Israel that they be restrained from bringing anymore gifts/offerings to the builders and the wise-hearted for the service.

[Ex.36: 1-7]

The Levitical priesthood, or those who’s lineage was aligned appropriately to the tribe of Levi in Israel, were to become the receptors of the communal organization of resources.  Whether that be of certain livestock, crops, materials that could be transferable to utilized items.  But, most importantly the priesthood members were to be spiritual facilitators of the entire synergy of operations of the children of Israel, especially in the wilderness.

The priesthood would also organize the materials for the worship in and throughout the Tabernacle or the Tent of Meeting, while in the wilderness, as well.  The instruction by G-d to Moses, and received by the Levitical priesthood, would eventually become the exact order of things to come in the building of the Temple of Jerusalem.

[Ex. 25: 31]And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.

The sacred covering of the Ark of The Covenant, which the Cohanim were to give service to on behalf the children of Israel, is called Kapporeth – כפורת, so finding out why the picture placed above, is of what might be known as Khepri, I’ll leave it up to anyone who’s curious enough to take a look for themselves. I would elaborate more on how linguistics also play a part in the understanding of Scripture, but that’s pretty apparent. Though, it may seem, out of context that there could possibly be more connections of the Hebrew/Jewish thought and practice, to the Ancient Egyptian Mysteries or the traditional Judeo-Christian aspects of this, it meets more points of similarity than most people can see. For example, in Hebrew, the “Holy of Holies” is named as the Kodesh HaKodeshiyim – קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים , and semantically similar in the ancient Ge’ez old Ethiopic language of the Ethiopian-Jews and Ethiopia entirely, the same is called the Q’edeste Q’ddusan – ቀደስተ ቅዱሳን.

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures. So, with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the opening of the Torah portions with Shemini – שְּׁמִינִי, from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel.  From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5777, this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 25th – כה, & on the 26th – כו, of the month of Nïsán/ Abïb – אביב / נִיסָן, for this week, in this mode of study; for those out in the diaspora or outside of Jerusalem/Israel. (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) &, from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in what may be known as the year 2009/2029/7509, on the Ethiopic calendar.  This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 14th – ፲፬, & on the 15th – ፲፭, of the ወርኀ(Wärha – month) of Mïyázïya – ሚያዝያ.  In the Scriptures, what is also known as BeS’minteñawim Q’en – በስምንተኛውም ቀን.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ)).

II Samuel 6:1 – 7:17

Hebrews 8: 1-6

In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, eight days after the ordination or anointing of the Kohani’im (Priesthood), Moses now instructs Aaron to prepare a sin offering of a young bullock , as well as, a burnt offering of a ram and the children of Israel, were instructed to bring a sin offering of one kid from the goats, and a their burnt offering was to be one calf and one lamb, both of the first year, without blemishes.  Another bullock and ram were brought for a peace offering, along with a meat offering mingled with oil before God.

[Lev. 9:1-20]

A wave offering was also presented before God, & the people were blessed out of the fire, because of the following of the laws and statutes while serving God in the wilderness.

[Lev. 9:21-24]

Nadab & Abihu

Nadab & Abihu
