RSS#26 (በስምንተኛውም ቀን / שְּׁמִינִי)

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

I welcome you all to a new regeneration of cycle Torah readings! This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (or Yefdeyah). I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures. So, with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the opening of the Torah portions with Shemini – שְּׁמִינִי, from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel.  From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5777, this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 25th – כה, & on the 26th – כו, of the month of Nïsán/ Abïb – אביב / נִיסָן, for this week, in this mode of study; for those out in the diaspora or outside of Jerusalem/Israel. (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) &, from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in what may be known as the year 2009/2029/7509, on the Ethiopic calendar.  This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 14th – ፲፬, & on the 15th – ፲፭, of the ወርኀ(Wärha – month) of Mïyázïya – ሚያዝያ.  In the Scriptures, what is also known as BeS’minteñawim Q’en – በስምንተኛውም ቀን.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ)).

Readings:

Leviticus 9:1 – 11:47

II Samuel 6:1 – 7:17

Hebrews 8: 1-6

In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, eight days after the ordination or anointing of the Kohani’im (Priesthood), Moses now instructs Aaron to prepare a sin offering of a young bullock , as well as, a burnt offering of a ram and the children of Israel, were instructed to bring a sin offering of one kid from the goats, and a their burnt offering was to be one calf and one lamb, both of the first year, without blemishes.  Another bullock and ram were brought for a peace offering, along with a meat offering mingled with oil before God.

[Lev. 9:1-20]

A wave offering was also presented before God, & the people were blessed out of the fire, because of the following of the laws and statutes while serving God in the wilderness.

[Lev. 9:21-24]

Nadab & Abihu

Nadab & Abihu

Aaron’s sons, Nadab & Abihu, were serving and performing the duties of the Priesthood, but offered a “strange fire” before God, which he had commanded them not to do. This action resulted in their judgment, which came by their deaths by being consumed by fire. Aaron, saw the consequences of the negative choices his own sons made by not staying in line with the Sinaitic Covenant & in line with the Order of the Levites; the statutes established between Israel & God upon Mount Sinai.

[Lev. 10:1-3]

But, Aaron other sons: Eleazar & Ithamar were grafted into the posts of the Priesthood and taught to conduct themselves in the manners of the ways of God’s covenant.

[Lev. 10:6-15]

shemini - parsha (sacrifices-offerings)

In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, God also constitutes the laws regarding what has become known as “Kosher” (Kosher accounts to Kashrut – כַּשְׁרוּת )pertaining to what can be consumed as food or dietary for the children of Israel.

[Lev. 11]

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, Jethro (Yitro in Hebrew; Yotor in Amharic), Moses’ father-in-law, hears the all that has happened in Egypt. The miracles of Israel’s departure from Egypt, GOD’s guidance through the wilderness, & his help in the defeat of the enemies of the children of Israel.

Moses-And-Tzipporah-the-prince-of-the-egypt

Now, the children of Israel have sojourned to the dwelling of Moses’ wife(Ts’pporah) and father-in-law’s, land in Midian & pitched camp. Jethro, then advises Moses on structuring the command of the children of Israel into a sort of order of civil officers, after bringing his wife and two sons (Gershom; who’s name has the meaning of “I have been an foreigner in a strange land,” & Eliazar; who’s name has the meaning of, “the GOD of my fatheris mine help & delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh”) from Midian to the wilderness.

israel exodus out of egypt map

Jethro, then entreats the GOD of Israel, sighting him as greater then all gods. Then Jethro took a burnt offering and sacrificed to the GOD of Israel, & broke bread with Moses, Aaron, & all the elders of Israel.

Moses, takes heed to his father-in-law’s words, & assembles all the tribes of Israel and appoints heads over them.  These heads(of the tribes) would discern small matters and only bring matters that were of great concern to Moses, to not wear heavy on him, burdens of an entire nation.

russian-orthodox-painting-of-the-saints

In the third month, of the coming out of Egypt, Israel came to the wilderness of Sinai, from Rephidim. Moses went up the Mount, in the wilderness & GOD spoke to him, calling for Israel to become a nation of priests & a holy nation.

[Ex. 19:5]

Jewish/Hebrew calendarformulated at Hebrew4Christians.com

Whenever GOD came to speak to Moses, to lay out instructions for Israel to follow, GOD came in a cloud of fire upon the Mount in Sinai. Moses then, took instructions of GOD to sanctify the children of Israel & to command them not to come near the mountain, for if they did, they would surely be put to death. Man or beast, should not come near the mountain in the wilderness.

[Ex. 19:1-13]

yitro - parsha [wilderness]

The GOD of Israel also gives to Moses and the Israelites, what is known as the Ten Commandments. No one else goes up, upon the mountain to meet GOD but Moses. Aaron, his sons & the elders of Israel come with Moses but they leave Moses to go further up to receive the instructions at the height of the mountain.

We begin the second reading of the Book of Deuteronomy, with Moses pleading with God for a chance to see the Land of Promise.  For his disobedience to God at the Rock and Waters of Meribah, where Moses struck the rock instead of sanctifying his name (name of YHWH) in the sight of the children of Israel; God told Moses, he would not enter into the Promised Land; but he would be gathered to his people along with the generation of the wandering in the wilderness.  (Wa’etḥanan-“& I Pleaded“)

Moses knowing that though God favored him in grace, he was still displeased with the Striking of the Rock at the Waters of Meribah.  For his disobedience and the disobedience of the children of Israel that came out of Egypt, during the “Exodus,” he remembers that God said that he, along with that generation would not enter into the Promised Land.

God, instead allows Moses to go up atop Pisgah, & view the land, but God also instructs Moses to encourage Joshua, because he shall lead the children of Israel in to the land.

Moses was also instructed by God to stress the emphasis on keeping God’s laws, statutes, commandments, & judgments that they were taught.  The children of Israel were to hearken to those laws & teach them to their children, also to the following generations.  The children of Israel were to never turn to worship, or the works of the hands(or idols).

[Deut. 4: 1-22]

The children of Israel were instructed to heed of the covenant with God, which they received at Mount Sinai.  Failure to do so would result in the punishments or judgments, for disobedience. (ie; the scattering of the people among many other nations, and serving idol gods, etc.{Duet. 4: 27 & 28})

[Deut. 4: 23-40]

Deut. 4: 26-31 (...the LORD will scatter you among the nations...)

Moses, then set up the Cities of Refuge, which God had command bet put in place.  So, Moses severed three cities: Bezer, in the wilderness, Ramoth, in Gilead, & Golan, in Bashan.

[Deut. 4: 41-49]

& Moses also reminded the children of Israel of the covenant, which God made with them, while they were at the mountain of Sinai.  Whereas, the Decalogue was iterated to them as apart of the laws, statutes, commandments and judgments, they were to keep & teach to the following generations.

[Deut. 5]

All the laws, statutes, commandments and judgments of God, were the children of Israel to learn, & teach to their children.  Even the Word of Witness(or the Shem’a), they were to hear, observe & do; that it would be well with the, and that they would increase in the Land of Promise.

& with the Word of Witness, the children of Israel were given, they were also instructed to love God with all their heart, soul, & strength(might). [Christ says; heart, soul, mind & strength (Mk. 12: 30)]  & they were to love their neighbors, as themselves, having these words not only come from their mouths, but be in their hearts.

(see. Apostles ask CHRIST of the 1st Commandment of all[vr.28], & CHRIST tells the first & second Greatest Commandments.[vrs.29-31]  Mk. 12: 28-34/Brit KH’adashah-Haddis Kidan)

[Deut. 6: 1-6]

Deuteronomy 6: 7 & 8

When the children of Israel were to come into the land, keeping all of the laws, statutes, commandments, & judgments of God; they were to drive out nations like; the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, & the Jebusites from among them.  The children of Israel were to have dealings with them, as well.

17th Kifil Study: Ras Tafari Renaissance Revelations

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

432_417386508351927_1732265329_n

I welcome you all to one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee). I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures. So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the Torah portion of Yitro-יִתְרוֹ.  On the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in this year 5774, this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 16th-טז, & the 17th-יז, of the month of Shebet-שְׁבָט, for this week, in this mode of study; for those out in the diaspora or outside of Jerusalem/Israel.  (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) &, from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in what may be known as the year 2006/2026/7506, on the Ethiopic calendar.  This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 9th-፱, & the 10th-፲, on the (ወርኀ)month of T’r(ጥር).  In the Scriptures, what is also known as Yotor-ዮቶር.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

Readings:

Exodus 18:1- 20:23

Isaiah 6:1- 7:6

Isaiah 9:5-6

Matthew 5: 8-20

This portion of the study of the Scriptures brings in, Yitro/Yotor-, or the name of the Moses’ father-on-law, Jethro.  Jethro, the priest of Midian.

yitro - parsha [Exodus - Midian]

Jethro, took Ts’ipporah, Moses‘s wife, and their two sons, Gershom & Eliezer, to meet him in the wilderness.  Moses, began to tell his father-in-law about the happenings in Egypt, between the people of that land and the children of Israel; & Jethro saw favor on Moses, and Israel.

[Exo. 18: 1-9]

Jethro & Moses _ by James J. Tissot

Jethro & Moses _ by James J. Tissot

Jethro, then blessed the God of Israel, Moses, & the people.  But, he then saw how the people were bringing every problem that arose, (small or massive), to Moses for him to solve.  Jethro, then told Moses, that the thing he was doing would take its toll on him.  Instead, discerning between every single matter among Israel, he instructed Moses to appoint, heads of certain numbers between the people.  Thus, lightening the load of carrying the entire weight of responsibility for Israel on his shoulders.

[Exo. 18: 10-27]
