Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

Greetings, yet again to one and all, from “Lidj Yefdi” (pronounced Lij; Yêf-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.  So, with this Hebrew Shabbat(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied the Torah portion of W(V)aYetz’e – וַיֵּצֵא, on the 8th –  ח, & the 9th – ט, of the month of Kislew(v) – כִּסְלֵוin the year of 5780. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the MoonFrom an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation, where the current year is 2012/7512 these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known, also as; We’Tito – ወጥቶon the 7th, & the 8th – ፰, of the month of Ch’ədár – ኅዳር.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar(with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

This portion of the Scriptures tells of how Jacob left Canaan, for Haran.  He was told by his parents, Isaac & Rebekah to seek out the people of Rebekah‘s brother, Laban.  But while in route, Jacob fell asleep and was sent a vision from God(YHWH).

Jacob, after going off to sleep, had a vision of a ladder that had angels ascending & descending upon it.

Coming to a well, Jacob met the people of Laban , and his daughter Rachel.  Jacob, later found himself twenty years in dowry to Laban for Rachel, whom he longer for.

Jacob begins to have children and time spends quickly as he has comes to the feeling that returning to his land would be more suitable for his large family and possessions.

The wives of Jacob, and their children had cleaved to him, for favor was with Jacob, in the God of his fathers.  So, Jacob gathered his family, cattle and set out to return to his father, Isaac.  Even at the pursuit of Laban, but Laban, could send his blessing for his children, and grandchildren, because God had blessed him since Jacob had come to live among his people.  So the two(Jacob & Laban) made a covenant between each other, because Laban knew that God’s favor was with Jacob.

Upon the birth of his Joseph, Jacob then turned to Laban and set go out from among Laban and his people, seeking to return from where came in Canaan.  Taking all that he had, his wives, children and their belongings he set off for Canaan.

Leaving off with descendants of Noah, from the last portion of the Scripture studies, LeKH’ LeKH’a-לֶךְ-לְךָ is the set of readings for this Sabbath.

Abram of Ur, in Chaldea, a descendant of Noah, was spoken to by God.

Abram, was told by God to leave his country and people, in Chaldea.  So Abram, left with Sarai(his wife), and Lot(his nephew) traveled south.  God sought to bless Abram, exceedingly.

Famine in those lands took Abram to Egypt, where passed off his wife, as his sister; for he feared he would be killed because of her beauty, in the sight of the Egyptians.

 But, because of her beauty Pharaoh sought to entreat her, for he sought to make her a wife of his.  But, his mind was plagued because of Sarai(Abram’s wife).  So much so, that he confronted Abram about the situation and ended up sending on their way peacefully, with quite hefty caravan.

While in Egypt, Abram and his family acquired very much, in riches.  But, if got to the point where there was strife among them, (within their camps).  Lot(Abram’s nephew) and Abram, consolidated to negotiate not to struggle with each other for there was so much land, that they need not quarrel over anything.

But, the men of Sodom, near where Abram had made a place for him cattle, herds, and possessions were a wicked and distasteful people.  Wickedness abounded so much so, to the point that Abram separated himself from among them, at Mamre, in Hebron.

War, in those days, between many kings of many nations, brought Sodom & Gomorrah to an expected destruction.

Fortunately, Abram was able to bring Lot out, just before meeting Melchizedek; the king of Salem.

Abram, was then blessed by God, in that by his wife Sarai, who was barren, would give birth to a son. (even in their old age)  Abram was given vision by God, that his seed would be innumerable, for he would be the father of many nations.  God instructed Abram, to make offerings, he did it & guarded it.

Then Abram had visions of the future generations of his to come.

Sarai, feeling as though she had been restrained by God from bearing any children, gave Abram, her maid, Hagar(Agar), who was an Egyptian, in attempt beget children of AbramHagar, conceived of Abram, but saw Sarai, differently afterwards. (by contempt)  Sarai, then feeling as though she brought about strife in Abram‘s house, she brought the plight to Abram, and wanted Abram to put her away.  God, complied because he sought to make the child of Hagar & Abram, a mighty nations of his own. (his name would be Ishmael)

Hagar & Isma'il (ibn Ibrahim)

Between Abram & God, was a covenant made: for he would the father of many nations, and be fruitful exceedingly, kings would be from him, the land between the two rivers would be of his possession, & the land of Canaan would be for an everlasting possession, his seed shall circumcise their flesh(males); also he & his wife would have new names.  Instead of Abram, his name would be Abraham & instead of Sarai, her name would be Sarah.

Abraham would also have a son, which he would name Isaac, his son Ishmael would grow to be a mighty nation.

In this parsha/kifil (study portion) of the Scriptures, we shall go through topics that cover, laws, statutes & commandments, mostly in the civil & domestic life of the children of Israel.  We’ll begin in the post-warfare ordinances, that deal with other governing principles, including inheritance, child rearing, humane civility, farming & host of other issues.  This portion of the Scriptures, set out supplementary laws that would aid the Hebrew people as they continued to draw near to God.

The children of Israel were presented with the orders of God, through Moses, to deal with domestic regulations in the ways that were suitable and pleasing to God.  The treatment of captives, especially of the women of other nations was one in question, in the ordinances of warfare.

Also, in this category of issues, the children of Israel were to administer to the wayward son, in ways that would be beneficial to, not only be sustainable to one’s household, but to the entire nation’s, as well.

The children of Israel, were not to be a wayward people, speaking with “fork-tongues“, living in ungodly ways, but always making way to become righteous by words & deeds.  Thus, the Laws of Brotherhood, not only within the Hebrew community, but to other nations also; the same would be the norm for ANY Israelite.

When it came to Hebrew farming principles, from the basics to large-scale agriculture practices, the children of Israel were to adhere certain commandments all-in-the-same.  This takes in account, the treatment of the animals within their possession, also.

1)”…Speak to the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:…”[Numb. 15: 38]; 2)…”thou shall make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself…” [Deut. 22: 12] {Tz’itz’iyot-צִיצִת or Gadil-גָּדִל}

In the upkeep of the laws, statutes, & commandments of God to the children of Israel; upon the sudden death of a Hebrew, who had a wife (but, was now a childless widowhad married, but bore no children), & was survived by a brother-in-law(her husband’s brother), the surviving brethren was obliged to uphold specific responsibilities in procuring the lineage of his deceased brother.  This law was one of intricacy, among others dealing with the “Innocent Wife”, being provided with protection within Israel.

In the arrangements for dealing with divers regulatory issues among the children of Israel, the Hebrews were to adhere to God’s principles in dealing with peoples of other nations, entreating their camp, holy places and such, but also, not succumbing to being a oppressors or whores & whoremongers, (ie. sexual offenders, rapists, etc.), or extortionists.

The children of Israel, also had learned from Moses, by way of the God of Israel(El-Elohe Israel_אל אלהי ישראל), the manners, in & of, the laws for divorce or separation in marital affairs.

An example of the Cḥalïtah; Gen. 38:8, in the story of Judah with his sons & his daughter-in-law, Tamar(widow of Er ben-Yihuda[Er, the son of Judah].

…& more detailed, laws, statutes & commandments, were placed in the midst of the children of Israel, for them to heed to in the divers regulations.  But, with all of these regulations, and adherence to God’s laws, the Hebrews were not to forget about the Amalekites; as eternal enemies.

In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the accounting of the offerings given by the children of Israel’s contribution to the Mishkan(tabernacle), is taken by Moses and Aaron.  The continuous diligent works of the builders and wise hearted, not only contribute to the tent, and all its furniture, but the garments the priests they made also.

Even by census, did the children of Israel walk in the ways of the God of Israel.  The vestments of priesthood(Levites), along with all of the furnishings of theSanctuary and Outer Court were taken in by sum to complete the rising of the Tabernacle.

Moses, made a blessing upon all of the instruments that were set to be used by the children of Israel.  He also consecrated the priesthood which consisted of Aaron, and his descendants.  They were ordained to be the servicemen for the work of the Tabernacle.

Once the tabernacle was finished and all the furnishing were placed in the positions appointed; a cloud descended upon the tent, & did not part from it.

I welcome you all to a new regenartion of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the opening of the Torah portion with W(V)ayakhel – וַיַּקְהֵל, from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel.  From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5779 year, this Sabbath day would more than likely fall on the 24th – כד, & on the 25th – כה, of the month of  Adar-אֲדָר . (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to 2011/7511 year, in what is known as Seb’s’bo – ሰብስቦ; on the 22nd – ፳፪, & on the 23rd – ፳፫, on the (ወርኀ) month of የካቲት (Yekateet).  In the Scriptures, what is also known as . This portion of the study of the Scriptures, Moses gathers the children of Israel together to relay rules & regulations for the Sabbath, & how they are to conduct themselves and teach the following generations as a statute among them, forever.  Moses also gave instructions to the children of Israel for the construction of the Tabernacle.

Moses, also explained that there would be two chosen among them that would offer their craftsmanship, and work to construct a place where God could come and dwell among the children of Israel while they made their way through the .  Then were found Betz’aleel ben-Uri (ben Uri= son of Uri), out of the tribe of Judah, & Aholiab ben-Achiycamakh (ben Achiycamakh= son of Akisamac) were called by God to be the chief artisans/masons of the Tabernacle in the wilderness.  But this didn’t exclude any of the wise-hearted (men or women: [Exod. 35: 20-26]), skilled and resourceful among the children of Israel to participate.

While the people brought willingly to God, the items for the construction of the Tabernacle, which they could  provide; it was brought to Moses’ attention that they brought more than what would be needed.  Moses then gave commandment and proclamation to the children of Israel that they be restrained from bringing anymore gifts/offerings to the builders and the wise-hearted for the service.

The children of Israel, then went on to construct the Tabernacle in the wilderness for YHWH to come and dwell amongst them.  Dividing the tasks of workmanship among each other, the Hebrews worked diligently constructed the ornaments of the Tabernacle, like the outer courts’ pillars, and the curtains.  The skilled and blessed craftsmen continued their work until all the vestments of the priests,and all of the furniture of the inner sanctum were completed.

In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the men of the children of Israel were to make Atonement for them, and their families.  So, in turn, the atonement that was made by the men of the families could’ve been compared to a sort of census; taking an account for the children of Israel. A half-shekel of silver, was what was known to be used to donate to the sanctuary of Israel.

The finest of spices and of oils, and these were to be taken for an anointing, of the Priesthood. Then the Tabernacle was to be anointed, the Ark of the Covenant, along with all that was in the sanctuary. The Sabbath was to be continually kept, for how the anointing, sanctified the Tabernacle; the Sabbath sanctified them to God.

More instruction for the construction of the fixings of the Tabernacle were run down to Moses in the portion of the Scriptures.

The bronze water basin was where the priests (Aaron and his descendants) were to wash before carrying out the duties that were to be done in service of the Tabernacle. Many can draw very close conclusions to how Christ wash the feet of the 12 (twelve) disciples on Passover before he was betrayed to this way of service.{Putting Christ, in the seat of a High Priest;  [Order of Melchisedeq]*}. The Anointing Oil was for the priests to be anointed before conducting the service of the ministry and for all the objects of the sanctuary.

Moses, then spoke with two chosen to build for Israel, the sanctuary of the TabernacleBetz’alel, of Judah(son of Uri), and Aholiab, of Dan(son of Achiycamakh); would build: the Tabernacle, the Ark, and all the furniture for the sancutuary, along with these: the garments of the priests, also.


Moses then, ascends the Mount, that is Sinai, & it would seem to the children of Israel, that he would never return, for he stayed for forty days. But, once he descended, he found that Aaron & the Levites had molted gold together to make a calf that the children of Israel worshiped.

But, before Moses could return there were certain ones in and among the children of Israel, convincing Aaron to make a calf of gold which they began to worship, for Moses stayed atop the mountain to the point that some presumed his death.

Moses, then receiving instruction from YHWH, to return to the people for they corrupted themselves with an idol.  Moses, at the moment’s notice tried to intercede upon seeing what the people had done, but waxed hot in anger, & destroyed the tablets of stone with the instructions on the calf of gold.

Now, in summation of the study we have in front of us; Moses is told by God that the children of Israel are to complete the construction of a sanctuary in the wilderness.  Other instruments and furniture, for the Tabernacle, that would be needed included: olive oil for the lampstand in what would be known as the Holy Place.

Also, in this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the subject deals mostly with the “everlasting flame” of the candlestick.

Moses, by the instruction of God, ordains Aaron, his brother, to become the High Priest, along with his sons and the rest of his descendants. Here, Aaron’s wife, Elisheba, whom was the daughter of Amminadab ben Judah(son of Judah), sister to Nahshon ben Amminadab(son of Amminadab), of the tribe of Judah, became the Matriarch of the Cohanim(priests).

The sacred covering of the Ark of The Covenant, which the Cohanim were to give service to on behalf the children of Israel, is called Kapporeth – כפורת, so finding out why the picture placed above, is of what might be known as Khepri, I’ll leave it up to anyone who’s curious enough to take a look for themselves. I would elaborate more on how linguistics also play a part in the understanding of Scripture, but that’s pretty apparent. Though, it may seem, out of context that there could possibly be more connections of the Hebrew/Jewish thought and practice, to the Ancient Egyptian Mysteries or the traditional Judeo-Christian aspects of this, it meets more points of similarity than most people can see. For example, in Hebrew, the “Holy of Holies” is named as the Kodesh HaKodeshiyimקֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים , and semantically similar in the ancient Ge’ez old Ethiopic language of the Ethiopian-Jews and Ethiopia entirely, the same is called the Q’edeste Q’ddusan – ቀደስተ ቅዱሳን.
