RSS#36 ( ስትለኵስ / בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ )

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied the Torah portion of BeHa’alōtecḥâ – בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ, for this week, in this mode of study, for those out in the diaspora or outside Jerusalem or Israel.  From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the year 5779 this Sabbath day would probably fall on the, 18th – יח, & on the 19th – יט, of the month of ‎Sïw[v]án – סִיוָן. (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) but,  from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Sítlläkʷís – ስትለኵስ; on the 14th – ፲፬, & 15th – ፲፭ day of ወርኀ(month)- ሰኔ (Seney). The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church(the other language being Ge’ez-ግእዝ).

In this week’s portion of the study of the Scriptures, Moses is instructed by God to tell his brother, Aaron to light the seven lamps for the candlestick(Menorah) in the Tabernacle.

Moses, is then also instructed to sanctify the priesthood (Levites) before the entire assembly of the children of Israel.  The children of Israel outstretched their hands forth to consecrate the blessing & cleansing of the Levites among the Hebrews, also for their service in the Tabernacle.

The Levites were taken by God to be the firstborn among the children of Israel.  The priesthood were to adhere to Aaron and his sons, and conduct the services and duties in the Tabernacle.

The laws, commandments, and statutes, for the appointed season of the Passover were given to Moses for the children of Israel, in the wilderness of Sinai.  The laws were given in the first month(Abib/Nisan) of the second year of the Israelites’ coming out of Egypt.  The fourteenth day of this month was when the Hebrews were to keep the memorial of the Passover.  (even in the wilderness)

The day the Tabernacle was reared up, a cloud covered the Tabernacle, over the Tent of Meeting (the Sanctuary), and in the evening to nightfall, a pillar of fire hovered the same of the Tabernacle.

God then spoke to Moses, saying, speak to the children of Israel, that they make two (2) trumpets of silver; for they would be used in the calling of the assembly & for the journeying of the camps.  The rules for the blowing of these trumpets would find an alignment different from that of the blowing of the Shofar.

The cloud then, was taken up from Tabernacle & the children of Israel journeyed on the twentieth (20) of the second month (Iyyar/Ziw[v]) out of the wilderness of Sinai to the wilderness of Paran.

The children of Israel then began to complain, and grumble for they had begun to forget the ways of God; how and why he brought them out of Egypt.  Their complaining kindled the the anger of God.

Now, the mixt multitude went lusting after their old ways, even from their captivity. (even after the fire at Taberah)  Yet now, in this study portion of the Scriptures the children of Israel wept again; now, for they desired flesh to eat.

Moses, heard the people and went before God, not knowing what to do for the weeping and complaining.  God instructed Moses, to gather those of the children of Israel, who were known as the elders(or wise) among them; for God would lift the burden of bearing all of the children of Israel’s problem upon himself.

God then sent a wind that brought quail to the children of Israel, & they did eat but, while the meat was in the process of consumption, a plague of death fell upon them; so much so that like Taberah, the place where the children of had fell away from the grace of God here was named Kibrot Ha Ta’aw[v]ah – (የምኞት መቃብር _ YeMígñoch MäQábr) קִבְרוֹת הַתַּאֲוָה‎ , or in translation the ( graves of lust ).

At this point, from the place of the children of Israel’s graves of lust they saw it fit to move on; and so, the Israelites journeyed on to Hazeroth (ሐጼሮት/חֲצֵרוֹת).

Here, Moses’ sister and brother spoke against him, for he married an Æthiopian woman.

God was angered, so that he spoke to Miriam, Moses, and Aaron.

But, upon his departure Miriam, Moses’ sister became leprous.  Aaron, Moses’ brother pleaded with him, for Miriam’s case & Moses prayed for his sister to be healed of the disease .  God gave grace and said that, seven days, Miriam should be set outside the camp; once she was healed, she could return.

I welcome you all to a new regeneration of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.  So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Mídbár בְּמִדְבַּר, on the 4th – ד, & on the 5th – ה, from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel; on of the month of  Sïw[v]án סִיוָן, in the year of 5779. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in the year 2011/7511 E.C., and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Mídrä Bädá – ምድረ በዳ, on the 30th – ፫, of the month of Gínbōt – ግንቦት, & on the 1st – ፩, of the month (ወርኀ) of Sänæy – ሰኔ.  The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – ግእዝ).

Forwarding, in our studies, we’ve come to another book in the Torah.  This study portion has brought us to BaMídbár(translated into English as; Numbers; or Midbar-מִדְבַּר =pasture/open field/desert, & Ba(e’)= בְּ , with Midbar, making the Hebrew word BaMidbar, either meaning, “In the Book of Numbers,” or “In the wilderness“)/the same in the Ethiopian-Amharic language with the word, Midrä Bädáምድረ በዳ= the wilderness”.

After completing the Book of Leviticus, (which by Ras Tafari interpretation, could be known also as the “Livitiy Book“) the over-standing of what encompasses the Leviticus, is the blessing and cursing, by way of the abiding in the laws and commandments set forth for the children of Israel.

Moses & Aaron, numbered the children of Israel, then appointed heads of the households from the tribes.(…twelve men, each of their father’s house…)

Moses & Aaron also received instructions from God, not to number the tribe of Lew(v)i with the rest of the children of Israel.  They were to have a separate responsibility among the people.  Just as they were to administer the duties of priests in Israel, in the Tabernacle, they were to continue in that way.  The tribes were then assembled orderly into an encampment around the Tabernacle.

Moses & Aaron, were to also assemble the Tribe of Le(w)i and consecrate them to keep the charge of Aaron(the High Priest), and for the entire congregation of Israel.  They were to keep the instruments of the Tabernacle and perform the service for the congregation.

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the children of Israel are finally release from the hard bondage of Egypt(with the Pharoah or “governing house“) that knew not of JosephMoses and his brother Aaron have spoken the words of the God of Israel to the king of Egypt and the plagues have shown the wonders that have come to pass by the mighty hand of God.

The Children of Israel have taken all of their possessions along with spoils of Egypt, which they could gather by blessing to carry along on their journey.  Upon the Israelites’ (Hebrew children’s) journey, Moses fulfills Joseph‘s wishes of taking his bones out of Egypt & on the journey of the Hebrews back to their Promised Land, to be buried with his ancestors.

Moses, and his brother Aaron had spoken the words of the God of Israel to the king of Egypt and the plagues have shown the wonders that have come to pass by the mighty hand of God.  The children of Israel had taken all of their possessions along with spoils of Egypt, which they could gather by blessing to carry along on their journey, & set out for the land of Canaan.

Moses, took up the task set forth by Joseph, to the children of Israel, to bring his bones out of Egypt on the journey to Canaan.  They set out from Succoth to encamp at Etham, with God leading by a cloud in the day, and a pillar of fire by night.

In discontent, and the words of some of the attendants in the Egyptian court, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened [by God], so Pharaoh summoned for 600 of his first choice of chariots, along with all the chariots of Egypt, with the captains of them & was in “hot-pursuit” of returning the children of Israel back to Egypt (& back to servitude).  Fearful of the pursuit of the chariots of Egypt, the children of Israel, cried out to God, & turn to Moses, in disbelief of the happenings in front of them. Moses, then commands them to fear not, for the God of Israel will do battle for them.  They are to continue to walk by faith &, to remember the ideal to do good works.

Moses, was then commanded by God to stretch forth his rod, & God split the Sea of Reeds(Red Sea), and the children of Israel traveled through on dry land. Whereas, the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart drove him to pursue the Israelites/Hebrews into the sea; they were swallowed up by it.  The children of Israel had the words of Moses fulfilled right before their eyes; God would do battle for them, if they stayed in the way of his light, keep his laws, statutes, and commandments; the Egyptians which they saw, they would never see again, & they would know the YHWH EloHIM is GOD.

Then, Moses sung a song of thanks and praise,…& the children of Israel sang with Moses, for in that day YHWH, made himself manifest to them as their salvation and this song became the “Song of the Sea.” (Because the people were allowed to pass over.)

Then, Miriam the prophetess, took a timbrel in her hand, & all the women came after her and danced with timbrels for the children of Israel triumphed by the hand of God.

HOW QUICKLY DO, ONES-N-ONES, FORGET THOUGH…?

In the wilderness of Shur, the children of Israel began to lose faith, & murmured against Moses.

{Ex. 15: 22-27}

Then God, spoke to the children of Israel, for they came to the wilderness of Shur, after they began to lose faith, & murmuring against Moses, because of their thirst.  They murmured again, against Moses & Aaron, because of their hunger, next…Moses explained that God had heard their murmuring & will provide for them, in exchange that they keep all his commandments & statutes.

God, blessed the children of Israel, with manna; “the bread of heaven.”  They were to gather until the Sabbath, for they were to keep the statue of Keeping the Sabbath Holy & they were to do no servile work therein.

The Hebrews, led by Moses, went on to the wilderness of Sin, where they murmured against Moses again.  Moses was commanded by God, to take his rod in his hand, to the rock near Horeb, for he would bring water out of it to drink.   Moses, called the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the Israelites.

Then, came out the Amalekites, to make war with the children of Israel.  Moses, told Joshua, to gather those out of the Hebrews who could go to war with them.  Joshua went and chose, between them, & Moses, Aaron, and Hur, went up to a hilltop.

They began to see that as Moses , raised his hands the Israelites prevailed & once his hands dropped they fell by the sword.  The Israelites prevailed for Hur(Chur), and Moses’ brother Aaron, held his hands high.  Moses, afterwards erected a altar, and called it Jehovah-Nissi’(ይህዌህ ንሲ-יְהוָה נִסִּי)-[Ex. 17: 15]. God then, said that the war between Israel & Amalek would last from generation-to-generation.

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

I welcome you all to a new regeneration of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.  So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Mídbár בְּמִדְבַּר, on the 4th – ד, & on the 5th – ה, from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel; on of the month of  Sïw[v]án-(סִיוָן) in the year of 5776. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Mídrä Bädá – ምድረ በዳ, on the 3rd – ፫, & on the 4th – ፬, of the month (ወርኀ) of Sänæy – ሰኔ.  The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – ግእዝ).

Forwarding, in our studies, we’ve come to another book in the Torah.  This study portion has brought us to BaMídbár(translated into English as; Numbers; or Midbar-מִדְבַּר =pasture/open field/desert, & Ba(e’)= בְּ , with Midbar, making the Hebrew word BaMidbar, either meaning, “In the Book of Numbers,” or “In the wilderness“)/the same in the Ethiopian-Amharic language with the word, Midrä Bädáምድረ በዳ= the wilderness”.

After completing the Book of Leviticus, (which by Ras Tafari interpretation, could be known also as the “Livitiy Book“) the over-standing of what encompasses the Leviticus, is the blessing and cursing, by way of the abiding in the laws and commandments set forth for the children of Israel.

Moses & Aaron, numbered the children of Israel, then appointed heads of the households from the tribes.(…twelve men, each of their father’s house…)

Moses & Aaron also received instructions from God, not to number the tribe of Lew(v)i with the rest of the children of Israel.  They were to have a separate responsibility among the people.  Just as they were to administer the duties of priests in Israel, in the Tabernacle, they were to continue in that way.  The tribes were then assembled orderly into an encampment around the Tabernacle.

In this encampment every tribe would raise a standard(or banner), with an ensign for the tribes.

Moses & Aaron, were to also assemble the Tribe of Le(w)i and consecrate them to keep the charge of Aaron(the High Priest), and for the entire congregation of Israel.  They were to keep the instruments of the Tabernacle and perform the service for the congregation.

(the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as  Ϊ’Qă D’mr Y’h Nä– ዕቃ ድምር ይህ ነው; on the 2nd – ፪, & on the 3rd – ፫, of ወርኀ(month) of መጋቢት(Megabeet). On the Ethiopic calendar, [7508/2008 E.C.] which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – ግእዝ).

In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the accounting of the offerings given by the children of Israel’s contribution to the Mishkan(tabernacle), is taken by Moses and Aaron.  The continuous diligent works of the builders and wise hearted, not only contribute to the tent, and all its furniture, but the garments the priests they made also.

Even by census, did the children of Israel walk in the ways of the God of Israel.  The vestments of priesthood(Levites), along with all of the furnishings of theSanctuary and Outer Court were taken in by sum to complete the rising of the Tabernacle.

Moses, made a blessing upon all of the instruments that were set to be used by the children of Israel.  He also consecrated the priesthood which consisted of Aaron, and his descendants.  They were ordained to be the servicemen for the work of the Tabernacle.

Once the tabernacle was finished and all the furnishing were placed in the positions appointed; a cloud descended upon the tent, & did not part from it. By day; a cloud hovered over the tabernacle & by night; a pillar of fire dwelt above.

(the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Mídrä Bädá-ምድረ በዳ, on the 14th-፲፬, & the 15th-፲፭, of the month(ወርኀ) of G’nbot-ግንቦት.  The Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church(the other language being Ge’ez-ግእዝ).
