✡FORMER NBA STAR AMAR’E STOUDEMIRE LAUNCHES LINE OF KOSHER WINES✡

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

We bring another posting here at Ras Tafari Renaissance to congratulate our Hebraic brothers’ accomplishment in establishing his signature Kosher wine line.  You may know him from his long tenure as a prominent National Basketball Association (NBA), athlete with credentials that wouldn’t do him the honor of his name; but today he has already begun to continue to his legacy as expressing more of himself through his achievement.

I’m speaking of Amar’e Stoudemire, former NBA star athlete, Rookie of the Year, Olympian, All-Star, & Hall of Fame hopefull.  (1st ballot; our own mock prediction** LOL) But, now he’s just another one of us human beings searching his heritage, uncovering the truth more and more, everyday.  The 6-foot-10 former hoops star, who returned earlier this month from a trip to the Jewish state of Israel, spoke glowingly about the wines and his connection to Israel at a news conference here Tuesday.

Amar’e Stoudemire; former NBA star player poses for the cameras with a mock prop for his new Kosher wine line: self-entitled “STOUDEMIRE.”

“It’s a blessing for me and my family to be able to produce such great wines from a land like the land of Israel, so we’re constantly counting our blessings for that,”

Stoudemire told reporters at the Jewish National Fund House on the Upper East Side.

Stoudemire, 35, said he had been in talks with the Israel Wine Producers Association for three years about making an Israeli wine and realized the opportunity when he relocated to the country in 2016 to play for the Israeli team Hapoel Jerusalem. He retired from basketball last year after helping lead Hapoel Jerusalem to the Israeli Basketball League Cup.

“Once I moved to Israel, it was the perfect connection to meet with the vineyards and go to the tastings and figure out the different blends for each bottle,” said Stoudemire, a part-owner of Hapoel Jerusalem.

Stoudemire played for the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Phoenix Suns among other teams in a 16-year NBA career.  Although raised Christian, he began exploring a spiritual connection to Judaism on a trip to Israel in 2010.

“I feel spiritually Jewish, culturally Jewish,” he said at the time.

Stoudemire’s line includes two red wine blends and one Cabernet Sauvignon, all produced in limited quantity by the Tulip Winery on its vineyards in Kfar Tikva, in Israel’s north.

The winery produced only 100 bottles of the high-end wine, Stoudemire Private Collection, with each bottle retailing at $244.99. It produced slightly larger quantities, 1,680 each, of the Stoudemire Reserve and Stoudemire Grand Reserve wines, which are retailing for $59.99 and $99.99, respectively. The kosher beverage giant Royal Wine Corp. is distributing the wines, which are currently only available for purchase in stores in New York and New Jersey.

Stoudemire, who continues to speak about his connection to Israel, said he’s open to producing additional wines, but that he would not produce them outside the Jewish state.

Amare’ & wife Alexis Stoudemire with three (3) of their four (4) children.

A HUGE CONGRATS TO OUR HEBREW BROTHER AMAR’E

& HOPES FOR MUCH MORE SUCCESS, NOT ONLY BUSINESS

BUT ON YOUR SPIRITUAL PATH!

So, in ushering in Hebrew Observances, that should be relevant and incorporated into the Ras Tafari consciousness.

Since the inception of Ras Tafari it has been clear that the Ras Tafarians proclaim ancestral heritage with Hebraic peoples of antiquity.  Sharing ancestry with the Imperial House of David’s Solomonic Dynasty, in Ethiopia; by way of King Solomon & the Queen of Sheba.  With that said, seeing how Ethiopia has become the ONLY Christian church upholding its Hebraic traditions intact, it should hold a critical place in the Ras Tafari faithful and those of like minds to adhere to original Christian and Hebraic practices.

Hebrew-Feasts

So, in this post we here at Ras Tafari Renaissance would like to put, all that continue to, and are maybe, just checking out the site for the first time on notice.  In the continuance of bringing you all, Ras Tafari interpretations of the Scriptures from a Bible-based foundation, we’ll also bring about the basics of over-standing Hebraic Observances/Holidays/Holy Days, and build on that foundation.

As the year comes to a close from ancient ways of time-keeping to the more modern ways, Ras Tafari Renaissance comes to the Hebraic New Year, with the anticipation of bringing the blog viewers into a deeper understanding of what is being produced here on this site.  Bringing more of the Hebrew and Amharic languages, into comprehension and use.

✡ Feast of Unleavened Bread – የቂጣውን እንጀራ በዓል – חג המצות ✡ …Passover continued…

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

Ras Tafari Renaissance writes to give perspective to the Hebraic remembrance of the Passover. In modern Judaism, it is known by the Hebrew term as Pesach – פֶּסַח. Jewish traditions celebrate the liberation from slavery in Egypt approx., 3,300 yrs ago by God; during the time of the Pharaohs, and their freedom as a nation under the leadership of. But, from the Ethiopian-Hebraic perspective, the liberation came from within a spiritual, socio-political, and religious viewpoints between Northern Egypt (Lower Egypt) & Southern Egypt (Upper Egypt).

Now as the celebration of Pesach has come to a close for this year and the festival/feast of Unleavened Bread has begun, we here at RRR, seek to expound on the intricate details of the second celebration which extends the joyous event of Pesach;

the Feast of Unleavened Bread – የቂጣውን በዓል – חג המצות.

– Ethiopian baked bread (Injera)

During the initiation of the Passover, the last plague (10th/tenth) placed upon the Egyptians and the Land of Egypt, the children of Israel the next morning were unable to fully prepare for the journey they were about to take through the wilderness; for they were thrust out Egypt for Pharaoh wanted nothing more to do with the Hebrews for the power of God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob had proven omnipotent.

[Exod. 11:29-33]

The Egyptians were urgent on getting the children of Israel, to leave the land of Egypt after the angel of death, sent by the God of the Hebrews to plague Egypt, of the all the firstborn of the land.

So, the Israelites took what they could of their own belongings, and the Egyptians lent to them what they didn’t have for fear of any plagues. But, when it came to the food that the children of Israel sought to take with them, the bread they had baked was without leaven so the dough had no time to rise for they sought to leave Egypt abruptly.

Israel leaving Egypt _ painting by Tissot

While, in route through the wilderness the children of Israel ate unleavened bread, until there was no more bread at all; as they did for the institution of the Passover Seder.

[Exod. 12:15 ; vrs. 33-51]

✡ Abïy Ts’om – ዓቢይ ጾም ☩ Pūrïm – פּוּרִים ✡

Greetings in the names of their Imperial Majesties, Empress Menen Asfaw & Emperor Haile Sellassie I, of Ethiopia.

This is Lidj Yefdi, bringing you, yet another post from Ras Tafari Renaissance. I sincerely appreciate all of the positive vibes and feedback I’ve received from those who have reasoned & spoken well of the postings here. MAY JAH DELIVER MY GRATITUDE & BLESS YOU ALL EXCEEDINGLY!

So, today in Jerusalem and wherever there are adherents to Hebrew/Jewish traditions and such are celebrated the Fast of Esther, which will culminate with the celebration of Purim – פּוּרִים .

HEBREW CALENDAR2

Purim, is the celebration of the deliverance of the Jews that were under the rule of the Persian Empire. [SIDE-NOTE] FLASH FORWARD, in Scripture the Persian Empire(or otherwise known to be the Medes, were apart the four kingdoms prophecy, which Nebuchadnezzer’s dream, was interpreted by Daniel, for him by way of God’s revealing).

Now, I apologize for not having the explanation of the Ethiopian Christian commemoration of the Great Fast or Abiy Ts’om in more detail, as I , my self have been incognito this past couple of weeks restoring my own spiritual & mental health.  This time of year leads up a sort of renewal of the faith among observers.

As we have entered into the 3rd week of the celebration in “Mikurab” or loosely translated into the Synagouge or the “gathering.

With ever seven days, there are specific readings from the scriptures, that coincide respectively with the time & reason for the season.

According to this years’ calculations; Feb 20 – April 15, 2017, is the Ethiopian Orthodox Great Holy Lenten Fast will be in line with 55 days culminating on “Easter” April 16, 2017, observed by followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

Now, with Esther and the story from Persia ( Iran ), The Fast of EstherTa’anit Ester:תַּעֲנִית אֶסְתֵּר  ,” is a Jewish/Hebrew fast from dawn until dusk on Purim eve, commemorating the three-day fast observed by the Jewish people in the story of Purim. If the date of the Fast of Esther falls on Shabbat, the fast is instead observed on the preceding Thursday. Like other minor fasts, Ta’anit Esther begins at dawn (first light) and ends at nightfall (full dark).

The Persian Empire came after the Babylonian Captivity.

Nebuchadnezzar-statue2

The Jews/Hebrews in Persia were freed from the hand of Haman, who had gained favor in the sight of the king Ahasuerus (whom is also accounted for as being Xerxes I). No, Xerxes I, is not the Persian king of the movie “300” dealing with the Spartans. THAT WAS PURE HOLLYWOOD ENTERTAINMENT; THIS IS HISTORICAL FACT. Xerxes, was the king of Persia whom gave favor to Haman the Agagite. But loved deeply, Esther, whom was the daughter of Mordecai, the Jew.

achaedyn

Mordecai, instructed Esther to conceal her heritage from the king and all of his court, for she had been taken along with many other young women to be suited for the king of Persia, because he put away Vashti, from being queen. But upon the conflict of Mordecai vs. Haman; Haman sought to destroy ALL the Jews/Hebrews in Persia. Silver was the payment of Haman to the king to destroy the Jews, young old, men, women and children.

[Esther 2: 7- 3:15]

MAP_PERSIA

Vashti, refused the king’s request to appear before the king & his guests, which were nobles and princes throughout Persia and Media.

[Esther 1(entire Chpt)]

But, unknowingly Hadassah(Eshter), was of the people of Jews(Hebrews) by way of her adoption by Mordecai, who reverenced not Haman, as the king had wanted for those of the kingdom in Persia and Media.

In the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, on its thirteenth day … on the day that the enemies of the Jews were expected to prevail over them, it was turned about: the Jews prevailed over their adversaries.

[Esther 9:1]

THE STORY OF HADASSAH(ESTHER) THE QUEEN

I&I would also like to give much, much thanks to the Lion of Judah Society, Inc., organization for their interpretation of Scriptures, historical events, & Ras Tafari dissemination of Ethiopian heritage in Africa, as well as, the diaspora. Here, I would like for you all to check out & consider the facts put forth here. Research, study & come to your own conclusions about the story of Hadassah(Esther) the Queen.

So, all -in-all to the Daughters of Zion, which I named this post,…I’am sure many of you are questioning that move. Well, its very simple! Women in society are many times are thought to be pushed to the backside of many important events, and happenings in this world we see today, but, clearly even in antiquity, women hold power and influence that they, themselves, sometimes are unable to recognize. Even, the power to save millions to the billions from despair.

But, for the Daughters of Zion, as well as, the Sons, the Scriptures clearly state that we are to remember Purim for all generations, and to keep them in writing.

[Esther 9:27-28]

Not to mention being the givers of life, nourishment, sustainability…and out right, “being the first teachers of human civilization(or every child) that comes to this world” _quoted from El Hajj Malik El Shabazz(Malcolm X) by way of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Sisters, mothers, daughters and women of our families the message you give to the child(children) they will give to the world. So please consider your illustrious position in the cosmology of this existence. & while we as Ras Tafari, Ethiopians, Hebrews, & Israelites, celebrate the essence of woman in the example of Queen Esther; I certainly hope, that the men will acknowledge the counterpart that was created to be the companion of ours.

I welcome you all to a new regeneration of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (or Yefdeyah).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to the opening of  the Torah portions with BeRäshït(h) – בְּרֵאשִׁית .  On the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in this year 5777, this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 26th – כו, & the 27th – כז, day of the Hebrew month of the month of Tishrei – תִּשְׁרִי , for this week, in this mode of study; for those out in the diaspora or outside of Jerusalem/Israel.  (The Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) &, from an Ethiopic-Christian perspective, in what may be known as the year 2009/2029/7509, on the Ethiopic calendar.  This calculation, with its readings from the Scriptures, would align to the 17th – ፲፯, & on the 18th-፲፰, on the (ወርኀ)month of TíQímt – ጥቅምት.  In the Scriptures, what is also known as BeMäjärämärïyá – በመጀመሪያ.  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez-(ግእዝ).

Again, this is Lidj Yefdi, wishing everyone a very blessed Sukkot!  Other names for this High Holy Day or appointed time as translated from the Hebrew language comes to us as; the “Feast of Booths,” the “Tabernacles/Festival of Tabernacles,” or as the “Ingathering.”

sukkot4

The Festival of Sukkot begins on the 15th, of the Hebrew month of Tishrei & is observed for seven days. (five days after Yom Kippur)  Sukkot, is in many ways very opposite to the observance of Yom Kippur, especially as ones would know and find it among peoples of today.  One reason in saying this is that Sukkot is very joyful and it is commonly referred to in modern day Jewish prayer and literature as Z’man Símcḥatéinu זמן שמחתינו; more literally translated to the English language as: “The Season of Our Rejoicing.”  Now in a similar fashion of the celebration of Passover and Shabuot, Sukkot has a significance that is doubled in a sense, especially when pertaining to its historical and agricultural perspectives.

Mirrors of Hamo-Shemitic culture: Ethiopia in the country side (resemblances of the Succah)

In a historical manner, the celebration of Sukkot commemorates the (40) forty-year period during which the children of Israel were wandering in the wilderness, living in temporary shelters.  Hence, for the term “Feast or Festival of Tabernacles,” in the similar way the Tabernacle/Tent of Meeting and encampment of the children of Israel was constructed while making the Exodus with the significant role of the furnishings playing their respective parts.    Agriculturally, Sukkot is a harvest festival and is sometimes referred to as Chag Ha-Asífחג האסף, translating to the “Festival of Ingathering.”

[Lev. 23: 34- ; Deut. 16: 13-15]

Sukkot is the third and the culmination of the Shalosh Regalim, or commonly known as the “Three Pilgrimage Festivals of Israel.”

Sukkot is a very joyous festival/feast day, & there are various ways of maintaining observances.  In the final of day of the memorial of Sukkot, the day is referred to as HoShanna Rabbah, which is a special observance with the use of bundling willow branches.

I welcome you all to yet another posting here at Ras Tafari Renaissance!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

Ras Tafari Renaissance writes to give perspective to the Ethiopian commemoration of what is known in Ras Tafarian circles as the “EarthStrong” or Birth date of Ras Tafari, H.I.M.self.  Prophecies were fulfilled, stars were aligned (especially pertaining to the Inundation of the Nile River & the so-called “Dog-Star” constellation), what more can we here at Ras Tafari Renaissance say about the birth date, of His Imperial Majesty Haile Sellassie (born July 23, 1892;  Täfäri Makʷennin woldä-Mikáèl [ተፈሪ መኳንን ወልደ ሚካኤል]).

In Ejersa Goro,  he was born to Ras Makʷennin & Yashimabet Ali, just outside of Harar; even in a Christ-like manner in rural Harar, of the late 1800s.

The youngest of ten children,  Täfäri was the only surviving and legitimate son of Ras Makonnen, the governor of Harar, which allowed him to become involved in the political field (if you please…?), as far as, the Kingdom of Ethiopia stood.

The coming forth of Haile Sellassie to the earthly plane was an emphatic occurrence that its still celebrated to this day in age, especially by Ras Tafarians worldwide.  Mainly because of its prophetic institution, and Biblical reverence within historical events.  These succeeding events that took place, worldwide but especially in Ethiopia, brought about the recognition of the importance of the Scriptures, in real time.

I welcome you all to a new regeneration of cycle Torah readings!  This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.  So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Korach/ KoraKH‘/ Koraḥ – קֹרַחon the 2nd – ב, & the 3rd – ג, of the month of Tammuz-תמוז., in the year of 5776. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)  From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation, where the current year is 2008/7508; these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Q'()oräy ቆሬ, on the 1st – ፩, & on the 2nd – ፪, of the month (ወርኀ) of Hämlæy – ሐምሌThe Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – ግእዝ).

Now, in continuance of our studies of Torah, we come to the parsha(portion) of Korah’.  Now, in this study of the Scriptures, a Levite, named Korah’ (ben Izhar- son of Izhar), joins himself wth Dathan & Abiram, who are Reubinites(of the Tribe of Reuben), and two-hundred & fifty princes of Israel.  This group began a rebellion, that challenged the authority of Moses and Aaron, among the children of Israel.

[Numb. 16:1-19]

korach - parsha [Lewiim - descent]

God instructed Moses and Aaron, to get away from Korah and his rebellious few, and tell the children of Israel to separate themselves as well; for he would consume them

God then, spoke to Moses to tell Eleazar(Aaron’s son; a Priest of Levi), to take the censors of Korah, which they took in the Tabernacle for the fire and the incense, and make them broad plates for a covering of the altar.  “They shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”

[Numb. 16:36-40]

korach - parsha [eleazar priest]

The next day the children of Israel, murmured against Moses & Aaron, saying, “…they killed people of God…,” and then a plague fell upon them(Israel) and more died, even after those of Korah’s Rebellion suffered judgment.

[Numb. 16:41-50]

God then, instructed Moses to gather the staffs of the Princes Of Israel; one for each of the tribes (12) and adding one more the tribe of Levi, in which, Aaron would be the head.  (making that thirteen [13] staff-rods).  God would then choose the staff to show where he would place his authority among the children of Israel, to put an end to their murmuring.  Moses, took the staffs and placed them in the Tabernacle of Witness.

[Numb. 17: 1-7]

korach - parsha [staffs of the Princes of Israel]

The very next morning, Moses entered into the Tabernacle, only to find that Aaron’s rod, had blossomed and brought forth buds, and also yielded almonds.  Moses brought forth the staff of Aaron, by God’s command to be a witness/memorial to Israel of God’s will way.  Whomsoever go against God’s way would not share in his rest.

[Numb. 17:8-13]

God then spoke to Aaron, saying, that he and his sons (lineage), were to perform the duties of service in the Tabernacle, so no wrath would anymore fall upon Israel.  The Levites were to administer the reception of of offerings made by the children of Israel to God in the Tabernacle; but they wouldn’t have an inheritance as the rest of the children of Israel(Tribes) had.  The reason being was & is, because the “tithes” of Israel would be given to them by God.

[Numb. 18:1-24]
