Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,
This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).
I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.
So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Bareshiyt(h) – בְּרֵאשִׁית, on the 25th – כה, & the 26th – כו, of the month of Tishreï – תִּשְׁרִי, in the year of 5783. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon) From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation, where the current year is 2015/7515; these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known, also as, BeMäjämerïyá – በመጀመሪያ. This would calculate as the 21st – ፳፩ , & on the 22nd – ፳፪, of the month of Mäskeräm – መስከረም. The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – (ግእዝ).
Genesis 1: 1- 6:8
Isaiah 42:5 -43:11
John 1: 1-14
Colossians 1: 15-17
Hebrews 1: 1-3
We re-open a new cycle of Torah readings and study with the parsha/kfl(portion) of Bareshiyt(h) – בְּרֵאשִׁית. The creation mythos, the story of the brothers: Cain & Abel, the Book of Generations, & Noah.
“And the name of the second river is Gihon, the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.“
– take in account with the Bible scriptures; also the….
– Ancient Sumerian and Egyptian texts
( ie. Khnum “Potter’s Wheel“; story containing deities Nut, Shu & Geb; Enuma Elish[Sumerian] etc.)
Sabbath Readings’ companion book
– the Ras Tafari Sabbath Companion Booklet to the cyclical Torah Readings. Hebraic in essence, & Christened in interpretation. A very valuable tool when teaching to children, or introducing one’s self to the Judaic/Hebraic forms of approaching study of the Scripture in entirety.
