Ras Tafari Renaissance

RSS# 5 (የሣራም ዕድሜ / חַיֵּי שָׂרָה)

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

This is another one of the many interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with a willing mind and heart(ready to learn), you will receive more than what you might have asked for, in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read in a Jewish/Hebrew cycle of readings, & thoroughly discern, have come to seek insight) into the study of the Scriptures.

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot (or Shabbat) we move into the opening of the Torah portion with Cḥayei Sarah – חַיֵּי שָׂרָה, on the 26 – כו,& on the 27th – כז, of the month of Cḥeshw(v)an – חֶשְׁוָן, [this Hebraic month is also known as; Mar’Cḥeshw(v)an – מַרְחֶשְׁוָן], in the year of 5781. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the MoonFrom an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation, where the current year is 2013/7513; these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known, also as, Ye’Saram Id’mæy – የሣራም ዕድሜ.  This would calculate as the 4th – ፬, & on the 5th – ፭, of the month of Cḥídâr – ኅዳር [ሕዳር/ህዳር].  The Ethiopic calendar is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) aligns to this Sabbath (or Senbet – ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic, which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (the other language being Ge’ez – (ግእዝ).

In this fifth kifil(portion), of our study of Scripture, tell about how Abraham made negotiations to procure a burial place, in the time of the passing of his wife Sarah.  Abraham left his origin in Ur of the Chaldees, to sojourn into the land of Canaan.

[Gen. 23]

This portion also tells of the mission, for a wife for the Abraham’s son, Isaac; among his own people.  The suggestion was made in urgency by Abraham’s wife Sarah.

[Gen. 24: 1-58]

Rebecca(Rebekah) - ርብቃ - רִבְקָה
Rebecca(Rebekah) – ርብቃ – רִבְקָה

Rebekah, agrees to take part in the mission’s fulfillment of the servant of Abraham, & she travels to meet, Abraham’s son, Isaac.

lech lecha - parsha [sarai-sarah]5 (3)

Isaac – ይሰሐቅ – יצחק

who could become her husband. Also, in lieu of this, with what could be promulgated as subsequent covenant between God and man, (specifically, speaking in Biblical terms) Isaac and Rebekah, continue to fill in the gaps of these timelines.

[Gen. 24: 58-67]

Gensis 24: 65 "...therefore she[Rebekah] took a vail, and covered herself..."

Abraham, also took a another wife, who’s name was Keturah, & Keturah bare Abraham children also.

[Gen. 25]

Keturah; Abraham's third wife
Keturah – ኬጡራ – קטורה

NOTE: Abraham Covenant, comes to fruition in the coming forth of his children by Sarah, Hagar, & Keturah.  From the line of Issac, would come what would be known as the Israelites; from the line of Ishmael, would come what would be known as the Ishmaelites, & from the lines of Abraham’s children with Keturah would come what would be known for lack of a better term the Arabians (a combination of the sons of Keturah).
