Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,
I welcome you all to yet another posting here on Ras Tafari Renaissance, for the a memorial in acknowledgment of the Chief Rabbi and head of the Black Jews in America, the pioneer; Rabbi Wentworth Authur Matthew.
So much can be said about this wonderfully gifted and blessed individual, but we will try to leave most of the more in-depth points of this man’s life up to your research. Rabbi Matthew, wasn’t a completely complex individual especially, to those who knew him well, or knew of his work. A leader, teacher, innovator, poised and extremely aware the world around him and at large.
To those who have yet to take a look into this great man’s life and his life’s work, you are in for a treat as you will find that he was steadfast in his teachings, loyal to those around him. But, in most of all very truthful in his analogies, appropriations and actions.
So, today we do him his well-deserved honor as a brother, teacher, scholar, organizer of men, and pioneer among many.
We give thanks to the father for him, coming to leave a legacy, and work of love for his people.
Chief Rabbi Wentworth A. Matthew
