Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellasie I &; Itege Menen Asfaw,
I welcome you all to one of many of the interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).
I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with an open mind and heart, you will receive more than what you might have asked for in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures.
Now, with that said, let us go right into this…
So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied either the Torah portion Terumah-תְּרוּמָה , from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel. Others who engage this type of study more than likely read the portion of Tet’sav(w)eh. From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5773 this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 12th & 13th day of the month Adar-אֲדָר. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as SiT’ota Meba-ስጦታ መባ; on the 25th & 26th of ወርኀ(month)- የካቲት(Yekateet). On the Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church(the other language being Ge’ez-ግእዝ)
Readings:
Exodus 25:1- 27:19
I Kings 5:26- 6:13
II Corinthians 9:1-15
Matthew 5:33-37
Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the God of the children of Israel, speaks to Moses, and instructs him to tell the Hebrews to prepare a place for GOD to dwell among them. This study of the Scriptures deals with this teaching in depth, in the details of how the people were sanctify themselves and the things they were to do to GOD. Terumah, in which this study named from twelfth(12th) Hebrew word in the Torah, which has meanings of “gift”, “offering”, or “contribution.” {SIDEBAR} Also, that makes a very telling numerology seeing how the children of Israel are numbered into 12 tribes.
But, to stay on topic, the children of Israel were instructed to contribute to the building of the Sanctuary. The materials that were to be brought forth were to come from the willing hearts of those who who would contribute to the building of the house of GOD. Among these items were specific materials that were to be utilized for worship, teaching, & devotion.
