This is Lidj Yefdi, bringin you, yet another post from Ras Tafari Renaissance. I sincerely appreciate all of the positive vibes and feedback I’ve received from those who have reasoned & spoken well of the postings here. MAY JAH DELIVER MY GRATITUDE & BLESS YOU ALL EXCEEDINGLY!

So, today in Jerusalem and wherever there are adherents to Hebrew/Jewish traditions and such are celebrating the end of Purim-פּוּרִים .

HEBREW CALENDAR2

Purim, is the celebration of the deliverance of the Jews(Hebrews) that were under the rule of the Persian Empire.

[SIDE-NOTE] FLASH FORWARD, in Scripture the Persian Empire(or otherwise known to be the Medes, were apart the four kingdoms prophecy, which Nebuchadnezzer’s dream, was interpreted by Daniel, for him by way of God’s revealing).

The Persian Empire came after the Babylonian Captivity.

Nebuchadnezzar-statue2

The Jews(Hebrews) in Persia were freed from the hand of Haman, who had gained favor in the sight of the king, Ahasuerus(whom is also accounted for as being known historically as, Xerxes I). & no, Xerxes I, is not the Persian king, of the movie “300” dealing with the Spartans. THAT WAS PURE HOLLYWOOD ENTERTAINMENT; THIS IS HISTORICAL FACT. Xerxes, was the king of Persia during the Achaemenid Dynasty & from Scripural references  gave favor to Haman the Agagite. But loved deeply, Esther, whom was the daughter (by way of adoption) of Mordecai, the Jew.

achaedyn

Mordecai, instructed Esther (who’s real name was Hadassah) to conceal her heritage from the king and all of his court, for she had been taken along with many other young women to be suited for the king of Persia, because he put away Vashti, from being queen. But upon the conflict of Mordecai vs. Haman; Haman sought to destroy ALL the Jews(Hebrews) in Persia. Silver was the payment of Haman to the king to destroy the Jews(Hebrews), young old, men, women and children.

[Esther 2: 7- 3:15]

MAP_PERSIA

Vashti, refused the king’s request to appear before the king & his guests, which were nobles and princes throughout Persia and Media.

[Esther 1(entire Chpt)]

But, unknowingly Hadassah(Eshter), was of the people of Jews(Hebrews) by way of her adoption by Mordecai, who reverenced not Haman, as the king had wanted for those of the kingdom in Persia and Media.

In the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, on its thirteenth day … on the day that the enemies of the Jews(Hebrews) were expected to prevail over them, it was turned about: the Jews(Hebrews) prevailed over their adversaries.

[Esther 9:1]

I&I would also like to give much, much thanks to the Lion of Judah Society, Inc., organization for their interpretation of Scriptures, historical events, & Ras Tafari dissemination of Ethiopian heritage in Africa, as well as, the diaspora. Here, I would like for you all to check out & consider the facts put forth here. Research, study & come to your own conclusions about the story of Hadassah(Esther) the Queen.

So, all -in-all to the Daughters of Zion, which I named this post after,…I’am sure many of you are questioning that move…Well, its very simple! Women in society are many times thought to be pushed to the backside of many important events, and happenings in this world we see today, but, clearly even in antiquity, women held power and influence that they, themselves, sometimes were unable to recognize. Even, the power to save millions to the billions from despair.

But, for the Daughters of Zion, as well as, the Sons, the Scriptures clearly state that we are to remember Purim for all generations, and to keep them in writing.

[Esther 9:27-28]

Not to mention being the givers of life, nourishment, sustainability…and out right, “being the first teachers of human civilization(or every child) that comes to this world” _quoted from El Hajj Malik El Shabazz(Malcolm X) by way of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Sisters, mothers, daughters and women of our families, the message you give to the child(children) they will give to the world. So please, consider your illustrious position in the cosmology of this existence. & while we as Ras Tafari, Ethiopians, Hebrews, Israelites, & Christians (per se) celebrate the essence of woman in the example of Queen Esther; I certainly hope, that the men will acknowledge the counterpart that was created to be the companion of ours.

19th Parsha Study: Ras Tafari Renaissance Revelations

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellasie I &; Itege Menen Asfaw,

416951_10152196717220147_1724870670_n

I welcome you all to one of many of the interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with an open mind and heart, you will receive more than what you might have asked for in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures.

Now, with that said, let us go right into this…

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied either the Torah portion Terumah-תְּרוּמָה , from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel. Others who engage this type of study more than likely read the portion of Tet’sav(w)eh. From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5773 this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 12th & 13th day of the month Adar-אֲדָר. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as SiT’ota Meba-ስጦታ መባ; on the 25th & 26th of ወርኀ(month)- የካቲት(Yekateet). On the Ethiopic calendar, which is solar (with its correspondence to the Sun) this Sabbath (or Senbet-ሰንበት) in the Ethiopian language of Amharic which is currently one of the languages of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church(the other language being Ge’ez-ግእዝ)

Readings:
Exodus 25:1- 27:19
I Kings 5:26- 6:13
II Corinthians 9:1-15
Matthew 5:33-37

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the God of the children of Israel, speaks to Moses, and instructs him to tell the Hebrews to prepare a place for GOD to dwell among them. This study of the Scriptures deals with this teaching in depth, in the details of how the people were sanctify themselves and the things they were to do to GOD. Terumah, in which this study named from twelfth(12th) Hebrew word in the Torah, which has meanings of “gift”, “offering”, or “contribution.” {SIDEBAR} Also, that makes a very telling numerology seeing how the children of Israel are numbered into 12 tribes.

But, to stay on topic, the children of Israel were instructed to contribute to the building of the Sanctuary. The materials that were to be brought forth were to come from the willing hearts of those who who would contribute to the building of the house of GOD. Among these items were specific materials that were to be utilized for worship, teaching, & devotion.

[Ex. 25: v8]And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, laws/ordinances for the Passover(PesaKH- פסח /Fasika-ፋሲካ) are set out. In addition to the Decalogue(Ten Commandments), another series of laws are given to Moses, to give to the children of Israel. This has been accounted for as the covenant upon Mount Sinai(or the Sinaitic Covenant).  God commands Moses, Aaron, & Aaron’s sons: Nadab and Abihu, to ascend the mountain. [Ex. 24:9-11]

Feast of Unleavened Bread

(Passover-פֶּסַח), is a memorial of the Exodus from Egypt. It also observes, the avoiding all leavened grain products and similar foods of consumption.  Most families or communities tell stories of the Exodus traditionally. Pesach(Passover) usually lasts eight days (for some others it may comprise seven days): Passover’s equivalent in Etiopian Jewish/Hebrew tradition is called (Fasika-ፋሲካ) from other translated sources Fasika connotates the meaning from/into Easter. Fasika has been an upkeep from the traditions and teachings of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church, since around fourth century A.D. Even, for what is known as a Christian church, this festival of Fasika(Easter/Passover) holds significance than what is known as Christmas. Fasika succeeds an approx., 56-day fasting period, which is has certain relevancy to the Western Christian ideas of Lent. Fasika, is known to be a a day of high celebration.

I welcome you all to one of many of the interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

Please, excuse me for not covering what is known as the parsha or Torah study portions that preceeded this thirteenth edition? But. I assure you that if you are patient with me, come with an open mind and heart, you will receive more than what you might have asked for in seeking the perspective of a Ras Tafarian’s I-sight (eyesight) into the study of the Scriptures.

Now, with that said, let us go right into this…

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied either the Torah portion Yitro- יִתְרוֹ , from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel. Others who engage this type of study more than likely read the portion of Misphatim. From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5773 this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 28th & 29th day of the month Shevat-שְׁבָט. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Yotor – ዮቶር; on the 1st & 2nd of ወርኀ(month)- የካቲት(Yekateet).

Readings:

Exodus 18:1- 20:23

Isaiah 6:1- 7:6

Isaiah 9:5-6

Matthew 5:8-20

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, Jethro(Yitro in Hebrew; Yotor in Amharic), Moses’ father-in-law, hears the all that has happened in Egypt. The miracles of Israel’s departure from Egypt, GOD’s guidance through the wilderness, & his help in the defeat of the enemies of the children of Israel.

Now, the children of Israel have sojourned to the dwelling of Moses’ wife(Ts’pporah) and father-in-law’s, land in Midian & pitched camp. Jethro, then advises Moses on structuring the command of the children of Israel into a sort of order of civil officers, after bringing his wife and two sons(Gershom; who’s name has the maning of “I have been an foreigner in a strange land,” & Eliazar; who’s name has the meaning of, “the GOD of my father, is mine help & delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh”) from Midian to the wilderness.

israel exodus out of egypt map

Jethro, then entreats the GOD of Israel, sighting him as greater then all gods. Then Jethro took a burnt offering and sacrificed to the GOD of Israel, & broke bread with Moses, Aaron, & all the elders of Israel.

Moses, takes heed to his father-in-law’s words, & assembles all the tribes of Israel and appoints heads over them. These heads would discern small matters and only bring matters that were of great concern to Moses, to not wear heavy on him, burdens of an entire nation.

In the third month, of the coming out of Egypt, Israel came to the wilderness of Sinai, from Rephidim. Moses went up the Mount, in the wilderness & GOD spoke to him, calling for Israel to become a nation of priests & a holy nation [Ex. 19:5]

Jewish/Hebrew calendarformulated at Hebrew4Christians.com

Whenever GOD came to speak to Moses, to lay out instructions for Israel to follow, GOD came in a cloud of fire upon the Mount in Sinai. Moses then, took instructions of GOD to sanctify the children of Israel & to command them not to come near the mountain, for if they did, they would surely be put to death. Man or beast, should not come near the mountain in the wilderness

[Ex. 19:1-13]

The GOD of Israel also gives to Moses and the Israelites, what is known as the Ten Commandments. No one else goes up, upon the mountain to meet GOD but Moses. Aaron, his sons & the elders of Israel come with Moses but they leave Moses to go further up to receive the instructions at the height of the mountain.

Ras Tafari, “Are You A KH’assid/Orthodox Jew?”

Greetings, in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellassie I & Itege Menen Asfaw,

416951_10152196717220147_1724870670_n

 to ALL who all have taken, & may take some time to check out these posts that give an insight to my Ras Tafari perspective along with those I have pulled information, historical discussion(fact & fiction) from, I hope that this brings about an understanding that wasn’t present before.  Also, to those who may have shunned or written off those who may sight Ras Tafari adherence as unorthodox to certain principles; I make my own sincere case in hopes that the reasons for those who dismiss Ras Tafari adherents, are explained in a clearer sense now.  This is a credo of mine that I present, to the best of my ability, the things that have taken hold in my discernment over a period of time that have come to be proved in actuality factual.  For others I would hope that the postings that I dispense here are “weighed on a scale” or so to speak; because, I would rather people know & stand on truth in its literal sense as opposed to its relevant sense.  I’m not providing these thoughts to showcase a mountain of knowledge to set myself above anyone.  But, I do intend to present the development of one who acknowledges the Ras Tafari principles, the way of life, & the head of the order: the King of Kings of Ethiopia, as the shining example of humanity.

FORWARD!!!

So, if one was a Ras Tafari, it is certain that many questions have come from many directions as to what they do, what they see as truth(seeing as how truth has become very elusive, in a relevancy state), & how the goals of Ras Tafari fit into the scope of the world today.

Many discoveries, & cultural ties, but very few identifiable materials have made the Ras Tafari presence relevant to the dynamics of its disposition in mainstream media. Wherein, a number of inquiries about what or why, people of Ras Tafari are doing certain things in this day in age come about.  For instance;

{ SO WHY DO RASTAS USE/HAVE JEWISH STARS-(THE STAR OF DAVID)? }…

Bob & Rita Marley's beautiful daughter; Cedella Marley wearing what is known as the Star of David.

{ SO RASTA, ARE YOU JEWISH? }

{ ARE YOU ORTHODOX? }_these question may arise out of, referring to specific hats & other material I’ve (or maybe others) worn in public, that may resemble Orthodox Judaic practices.

So, I came across a number of very interesting posts & messages some time ago that caught my attention about Ras Tafari & its affinity to a Hebrew concept.  Ras Tafari is already known for their connections to Christianity from an Ethiopic root, which can easily extend to Africa in a continental scope.  Also, seeing as how they revere an African monarch, who reigned over a Christian kingdom.  But with Christianity being known in the world as a sort of, by-product of the Hebrew faith, many people have questioned the Ras Tafari ability to “connect-the-dots” (or so to speak) to a possible Hebrew or Jewish connection.

http://daghettotymz.com/current/rasjew/rasjew.html

The above link was probably one of the most critical, but enlightening write-ups I’ve seen about Ras Tafari, from a writer outside of any Ras Tafari ideology or practice.

…this article was written by M’Bwebe Ishangi, who has produced controversial, but extremely intriguing pieces.  Its obvious that the research put into to the projects completed and those to come have inspired this individual to create an atmosphere for the development of spreading African history, and cultural awareness which is distorted among the world educational platform….

I encourage any of you, who are really seeking to learn more about African history aside from what any of you may or may not have received from your schooling to check out the works of this site.  It will surely spark something in you to engage in more prolific works.

(such as this, I, personally honor the works of the above platform in media for producing the critical thinking of the masses of people)

I will admit that some of the points made in this article were elaborately drawn-out conclusions, but without fact for a few of them (maybe it was intentional to spark thought) ; for example, the suggested rape of the Queen of Sheba by King Solomon…surely controversial, & a possibility with the story told to one, who may have heard it only a few times, & not in its entirety.  But, in the article the mentioning of the only other account of the story of the Queen of Sheba & King Solomon outside Scriptural references (taking in account the Holy Bible & Holy Qu’ran) was that of the Ethiopian manuscripts of the Kebra Nagast[ከብረ ነገስት], or translated by E.A.W. Budge from the Ge’ez language of the ancient Ethiopic to English as the “the Glory of the Kings;” this discovered literature makes mention of the Queen of Sheba’s visit to Jerusalem from an entirely different perspective from that of the Bible or Qu’ran.  The writer makes an educated assumption but for a Ras Tafari who was too curious about the story, myself, I couldn’t take this account of it seriously for this point (suggested rape) considering the author of this challenging article hasn’t read from the translated work of Budge, nor the ancient story in its original language.  So, like I mentioned earlier in this post it can be suggested that the writer of the above controversial and thought provoking article could indeed have had the intention of sparking interest into a more critical and self searching appeal to the masses; instead of taking everything that is put out by mas media forms for “face-value.” (Which I commend, wholeheartedly)

&, to think that the “Glory of Kings,” speaking of the great Solomonic dynasty of Ethiopia could possibly be put on the record as the first king of Ethiopia & Israel; ruling simultaneously, as a bastard child, would surely be “one for the books,” but of course, this is most certainly not so. Though, Solomon was most cunning in his pursuit of the beautiful Queen of Sheba, he was surely smitten by her & though she was wary of her ancient customary traditions, & voiced them to Solomon; she was also just as drawn to him as he was to her. Hence, the granting of lands in Solomon’s dominion were given to Sheba, along with many treasures, too much more to name.  Finally the birth of a son who would renew the kingdom of Israel in Ethiopia would come.  This explanation that I’m bringing forth to clarify the story of the happenings between Solomon & Sheba is not to discredit the writings of anyone, especially this well-written article by M’Bwele Ishangi who has clearly produced works extensive in African history, but to bring about a need to go deeper into the story & traditions that brought about the Ras Tafari understanding of their roots as Israelites, as well as, Ethiopians(Africans).  Not to forget that, more & more discoveries of literature, excavations & so much more are still being discovered to give more validity to the not only the relationship that Sheba & Solomon shared but, the lineage that sprung forth from it.

Again, I commend Mr. Ishangi for his proposed questions & challenges to the legitimacy of the “Jewish” roots of Ras Tafari. Only the diligent & disciplined need to engage in a civil & mature discussion on topics as these. There are many more who have brought up the inquiries of Hebraic culture within Ras Tafari and what people know as Black people of today across the globe. The dissemination of the relationships between Black people and Jewish people has had many examinations from even many more different angles and viewpoints.  These ideas should be explored, as well; for instance, the encompassing work of the Nation of Islam‘s Most Honourable Minister Louis Farrakhan, works; (peace be upon him)*

So, to bring about an understanding of what people see in the Ras Tafarian culture, symbolism, & such, is simply self-expression of lineage, history, & the regeneration of identification. The usage of certain symbols in Jewish folklore and tradition come from specific teachings of the authors the Masoretic texts of the Torah & Talmud. The question about those who are considered black & have an affinity to things categorized as “Jewish,” should not be so over bearing to the point of overly stressed investigation. As if, there is to be something to be found faulty about, because possibly there could be no way that anyone could be “black” & Jewish at the same time without intermarriage being the precursor. (take, for instance, the continuous speculation of hip hop artist “Shyne” Jamal Barrow-Moses Levy( מושח בן לוי -Moshe ben Levy ) : who just so happens to be not only Ethiopian and Belizean, in descent, but Jewish, as well. Though he has had his journey in hardships, pain & trevail, I myself, wonder, if the consistent lack of acceptance weighs more on him. (like the troubles the Beta Israel-Ethiopian Jews have faced, since their arrival in the State of Israel, which has its congruency to the plight of Blacks in America) His Jewish ancestry is constantly on a probationary status among many people, who just don’t seem to accept it. Even with all of this taking its toll, he strives to present himself a man of honesty, and integrity, which he should be commended for.

Now, I know that I have taken you all through alot, but to fully understand the message I’am trying to convey all boils down to this, one cannot know where there are going until they know where they’ve been.  In learning where an individuals’ roots lie, one can begin to start carving out their own destiny, making decisions based upon their own understanding of their background. (ie. strengths & weaknesses)  In the case of the Ras Tafari; I don’t believe I could say more than they already have about how they feel about their culture, history, & heritage.  “The proof is clearly in the pudding!”(proverbially)  But, in all seriousness to question the revelations of the early Ras Tafari principles & those generations who were brought up or came into the teachings of the same.  To this extent of overbearing discontent, this type of person would have to question or tackle a mountain of information; not to mention their own beliefs, to the point of discrediting themselves.

We must also take into account that before there was a Jewish nation, there was a Jewish tribe, that tribe was apart of the Hebrew/Israelite nation. The establishment of the tribes of Israel doesn’t come until after Jacob, the son of Isaac, has 12-twelve sons. These twelve would be the progenitors of the tribes of Israel. (Genesis 29:32 – 35:18)

So, to answer the curious questions of inquiries I’ve received & probably many others have as well,…the Ras Tafari usage of things known as “Jewish” in the world today have roots.  Those roots the Ras Tafarians, as well as I, find & prescribe to, have discovered them to be very close to us, ancestrally…

As far as, being a KHassid/Hasidic…that would be up to the Most High decide seeing as that, ALMIGHTY GOD is the ultimate judge of this world and the world to come.  While I commend the Hasidic movements of European Jews, who have taken hold to the old traditions of the Hebrews, & show themselves “trees of good fruit” in their works; I find that KHassid-חסד which means “piety”, “kindness”, “loving”, “charity”, “benevolent”, & “favor” are things that ALL people should subscribe to be.  So to call myself a Hasid/KHassid, is something I can only train myself in for my creator to see me as.  But, in being Hebrew, an Israelite, & of the Tribe of Yihuda(Judah), I cannot escape.  I can choose the way I live my life, but not the family I’am born into.

16th Parsha Study: Ras Tafari Renaissance Revelations

Greetings in the name of His & Her Imperial Majesties Qedamawi Haile Sellasie I &; Itege Menen Asfaw,

416951_10152196717220147_1724870670_n

I welcome you all to one of many of the interpretations of the Scriptures from the light of Ras Tafari by, I, Lidj Yefdi (pronounced Lij, Yef-dee).

So,with this Hebrew Shabbot(or Sabbath day) if those who actually open up their Bibles to read, & thoroughly discern, nonetheless studied either the Torah portion BeshalaKH’ – בְּשַׁלַּח , from a Jewish/Hebrew mode of study for those out in the diaspora, living outside of Jerusalem or Israel. Others who engage this type of study more than likely read the portion of Yitro. From the Jewish or Hebraic Calendar in the 5773 this Sabbath day would probably fall on the 7th & 8th day of the month Shevat-שְׁבָט. (the Hebrew Calendar corresponds to a Lunar cycle of the Moon)From an Ethiopic-Christian perspective and calculation these readings from the Scriptures would align to what is known as Minim Q’rb BeehOn-ምንም ቅርብ ቢሆን; on the 24th & 25th of ወርኀ(month)-ጥር(T’r).

Readings:

Exodus 13:17- 17:16

Judges 4:4- 5:31

John 6:15-71

Now, for in summation of the study we have in front of us; In this portion of the study of the Scriptures, the children of Israel are finally release from the hard bondage of Egypt(with the Pharoah “or governing house”) that knew not of Joseph. Moses and his brother Aaron have spoken the words of the God of Israel to the king of Egypt and the plagues have shown the wonders that have come to pass by the mighty hand of God.

The Children of Israel have taken all of their possessions along with spoils of Egypt, which they could gather by blessing to carry along on their journey.  Upon the Israelites(Hebrew children’s) journey, Moses fulfills Joseph’s wishes of taking his bones out of Egypt & on the journey of the Hebrews back to their Promised Land, to be buried with his ancestors.  {Ex. 13:19}

[Exodus 13:19_ And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly swron the children of Israel that, saying God shall surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones hence with you.]

Its been said that in some circles of Ras Tafari, the Legend of Reggae music, Bob Marley, has been compared to Biblical Joseph: hmmmm,…???

LOVE & HONOR, JAH(God) GUIDE RITA MARLEY ALONG WITH THE SEEDS OF THE GREAT LEGEND OF REGGAE MUSIC & RAS TAFARI TUFF GONG!!!

The children of Israel began their “Exodus”(-exit, going out) from Egypt & were lead by God, even in their ignorance of omni-prescence that was with them.

And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. And the LORD went before them by dayin a pillar of a cloud, to lead them by the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day & night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. {Ex. 13: 20-22}

Israel’s [possible] track out of Egypt

In discontent, and the words of some of the attendants in the Egyptian court, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened [by God], so Pharaoh summoned for 600 of his first choice of chariots, along with all the chariots of Egypt, with the captains of them & was in “hot-pursuit” of returning the children of Israel back to Egypt(& back to servitude). {Ex. 14: 3-12}

Fearful of the pursuit of the chariots of Egypt, the children of Israel, cried out to God, & turn to Moses, in disbelief of the happenings in front of them. Moses, then commands them to fear not, for the God of Israel will do battle for them,…they are commanded by God, through Moses, to go: FORWARD!

Moses is then commanded by God to stretch forth his rod & God through Moses splits the Sea of Reeds(Red Sea) and the children of Israel travel through on dry land. Whereas, the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart drove him to pursue the Israelites/Hebrews into the sea; they were swallowed up by it. & the children of Israel had the words of Moses fulfilled right before their eyes; God would do battle for them, if they stayed in the way of his light, the Egyptians which they saw, they would never see again, & they would know the YHWH EloHIM is GOD {Ex. 14: 13-31}

Moses, then sang, & the children of Israel, did sing…

{Ex. 15}

Song Of The Sea/Song of Moses: Exodus 15: 1-21

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord, saying,

“I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.
 The Lord is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
 The Lord is a man of war;
the Lord is his name.

“Pharaoh’s chariots and his host he cast into the sea,
and his chosen officers were sunk in the Red Sea.
 The floods covered them;
they went down into the depths like a stone.
 Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power,
your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.
 In the greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries;
you send out your fury; it consumes them like stubble.
 At the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up;
the floods stood up in a heap;
the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea.
 The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake,
I will divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of them.
I will draw my sword; my hand shall destroy them.’
 You blew with your wind; the sea covered them;
they sank like lead in the mighty waters.

 “Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like you, majestic in holiness,
awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?
 You stretched out your right hand;
the earth swallowed them.

 “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed;
you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.
 The peoples have heard; they tremble;
pangs have seized the inhabitants of Philistia.
 Now are the chiefs of Edom dismayed;
trembling seizes the leaders of Moab;
all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.
 Terror and dread fall upon them;
because of the greatness of your arm, they are still as a stone,
till your people, O Lord, pass by,
till the people pass by whom you have purchased.
 You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain,
the place, O Lord, which you have made for your abode,
the sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established.
 The Lord will reign forever and ever.”

For when the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought back the waters of the sea upon them, but the people of Israel walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea. 20 Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. 21 And Miriam sang to them:

Song of the Sea- שירת הים (Shirat H’yam)

HOW QUICKLY DO, ONES-N-ONES, FORGET THOUGH…?

In the wilderness of Shur, the children of Israel begin to lose faith, & murmur against Moses, because of thirst. {Ex. 15:  22-27}

& then they murmur again, against Moses & Aaron, because of their hunger, next…Moses explains that God hears their murmuring & will provide for them, in exchange that they keep all his commandments & statutes {Ex. 16:}

The Israelites are then, faced with an enemy to them: Amalek. Joshua, the son of Nun( Hoshea/Yeshua ben Nun) is called by Moses to go and chose men of the camps to fight Amalek, while Moses will stand atop of a hill with the rod God, in hand. During the battle, it was apparent that whenever Moses raised his arms with the rod, Israel prevailed, but when his arms grew tired Israel loss ground, so Aaron & Hur, placed stones under Moses’ hands to keep them upright until Israel had emerged as victor. Moses is then told by God, to write this victory as a memorial in a book, because Amalek(the Amalikites) will be an enemy to God from generation-to-generation. God said that he would utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
